Globalization and technology: Towards Reconciliation and peace building

Do you agree with the author?

I do agree with what the author said because based on what a read it tackles about

globalization and technology in the modern world is that we can rest assured that the

technology could be useful to us in our civilization. When it comes to technology, we can’t

easily agree about it if it is right or bad because technology is a public way to interact in

virtual reality in other people and there is a possibility that it could good or bad for us. The

technology could be our resources to identify and do what we want, and it depends on how

we use and treat the technology because in some cases people now a days they can use it

advertisement in business, making money, try to explore and do something good, and so

forth. There will be always a people that they’re will use it in bad ways that it could disaster

for our civilization because on our globalization we embrace the technology and, in some

ways, people see it a gateway of destruction it is said on the “Technology should not be

used to exploit nor to subordinate people. either should it be used for warfare or destruction.

Nothing is at stake in the struggle to make science and technology successful in the cause

of humanity (Feenberg 1999:125)”. So, I think that the author tells us about we shouldn’t

abuse it the technology.

Based on the readings what is ethics?

Based on what the article is that the struggled of globalization is in the technology and

people itself because people have a different kind of perspective and it includes the behavior of a

person’s when it comes to technology. Human nature sees the technology as a key or an advance

weapon to seize to uphold something that people want to greed insatiable longing for materials

such as power but still it depends on them. In some persons, there will still uphold their kindness

that shows them a quality good person that cares about the surrounding and peace to. According

to the article, it tells us that “A world of global citizens sees the world as one with its interdependent

units of region and nations. The physical boundaries are envisioned to become less and less marked

between countries and among regions as we become increasingly interrelated with each other

(Sakamoto 1994: 199).” It means that the globalization is trying to reconvene the civilization of it.

So, from my perspective, human nature has a way of thinking about how we used it and how we

think about it in the technology it only depends on how we treat the technology itself and how we

used it properly.
