Course Title: Essential Truths of the Catholic Faith
Course Unit: 3 units
Course Prerequisite: None
Contact Hours: 54 hours

Course Description:

This course is divided into three parts. The first part, from Lesson 1 and 2, focuses on the essential Moral Truths highlighting the dignity of the Human person, Ten
Commandments, the beatitudes, freedom, conscience, laws and Christian virtues. The second part draws attention to the Worship dimension of our Catholic Faith with its
exposition on Prayer and Sacraments from lesson 3 to lesson 5. The third part features the basics of Catholic doctrine on Creation, Trinity, Christology and Church from lessons 6
to lesson 9. The Course ends with the exposition on Church as a community who forgives and unites as it journeys to eternal life.

Intended Learning Outcomes:

At the end of the course, the students must have:

1. grown in an understanding of the Catholic faith through use of Sacred Scripture and Church Teaching.
2. described and lived out Christian moral life and learn to make decisions that reflect a Christian vision of life.
3. taken up an active life of prayer and worship through the liturgy and different forms of prayer.
4. deeper appreciation of their true identity as children of God and their special responsibility as members of the Body of Christ.
