Introduce the concept of the Fundamental Counting Principle
To formulate conclusions from events that serves as a reliable basis in making
critical decisions
State real-life applications related to FCP such as chances in lotto, selecting a
buffet in a restaurant, etc.
Discuss and answer Letter A in Activity 1 then ask the students to answer
Letter B in that same activity using their notebook.
Ask the students on how they arrived at their answers and the methods they
used. Highlight then the FCP, which they will use in Activity 2.
Discuss the answers from the first few items in Activity 2 using FCP then ask
students to answer few items in that activity. Highlight the use of a tree
diagram.
