ACTIVITY 1
CONCLUSIONS
Curriculum is a systematic approach to academic excellence that not only promotes quality
education or learning experience, but also stretches the skills and abilities of the students as future
leaders. It is the guide by which teachers are able to impart, or rather enhance, students’
knowledge, and bring them to a place where their full potential is realized and discovered.
It is a way of the educated life, wherein teachers promote a safe learning environment for the
students to further explore many different areas of learning. It includes different subjects,
activities, and more, to help facilitate better student learning experience. Without curriculum,
education can be messy, unorganized, and may lead to no educational destination nor achievement
of academic goals and purpose.
Curriculum helps make learning fun and puts both teachers and students in a journey where
learnings can be applied not just in academics, but also in their individual lives. Curriculum is
where young minds can learn from educated professionals, and professionals can learn from
educating young minds.

ACTIVITY 3(b)
I felt that I have learned a lot more about curriculum, and now have a much deeper
understanding of its purpose in education compared to how I previously perceived it. I
see now the importance of curriculum, and why every school or other academic
institutions need to have one.

Why must the teacher be aware and sensitive to the hidden curriculum?
“As a teacher, you have to equip yourself through awareness of the hidden
curriculum, as students nowadays are very vocal, open, frank and expressive in
their ideas. If you are not aware of the hidden curriculum, you will not be able to
interact with the students, nor correct any error in their opinions. You need to
keep up with their trends if you want to properly guide them.”

MY REFLECTIONS / INSIGHTS
A good teacher would make sure that their lesson plan would suit the
different kinds of student they could possibly encounter in the classroom, to
properly and smoothly facilitate student learning. Knowing the different
types of curricula provides the teacher an educational structure that will
help them achieve a desired objective or end goal.
