Discussions of Findings

The findings of this study are being discussed thus;

Table 1 reviewed that the items in the questionnaire were agreed on by the respondents that the
internet influences teaching and learning in business education as the internet facilitates the process of
finding useful information for teaching and learning, enables teachers and students have access to wide
range of information for teaching and learning, facilitates all manner of problem solving, increases
students motivation to learn and allows instantaneous connection between the lecturer and the students.
This is in line with what Davis (2008) said that internet is a search tool that facilitate all manner of
problem solving, be it how to build a chair or identify if the plant your one-year old has just swallowed is
poisonous. Mohmoud Sayed Abdullali (2007) argued that the internet is used in business education
programmes because it facilitates learning, teaching and communication. Harmer (2007) writes that
there is a great deal of information on the internet if one only knows how and where to find it. Teachers

4
can benefit from using the internet as a teaching resource as it opens up a world of possibilities for
teachers and students.

Table 2 reviewed that the items in the questionnaire were agreed on by the respondents that computer
influences teaching and learning of business education as the use of computer for teaching enhances
lecturers productivity and effectiveness, motivates students to come for lectures, helps in sustaining
longer and deeper attention of students, help to develop the students process of thinking critically and
contributes to the students engagement in the process of learning business education.

Table 3 reviewed that the items in the questionnaire were agreed on by the respondents that audio tape
recorder influences teaching and learning of business education as the use of audio tape recorder is
used to retrieve information at a very fast rate, is used by students for recording and have access to
instruction delivered during lecture, gains the attention of the students, helps the students to recall
what was learnt and teach a very large class.

Table 4 reviewed that the items in the questionnaire were agreed on by the respondents that projector
influences teaching and learning of business education as the use of projector gives the lecturer greater
versatility. Its adoption compels the speaker into well-organized path on which the most important
point are emphasized (Harknett and Cobane). The use of projector for teaching helps to sustain students
attention, longer and deeper attention can benefit students learning as well as the lecturing atmosphere
by reducing distraction (Evans, 2014). The use of projector for teaching and learning also leads to better
use of class time, makes note taking by students easier and facilitates instructions.
