1-Mango:

Chaunsa Root stock characteristics:


 The fruit has a golden-yellow color when it is soft, is almost fiberless, and
has an aromatic, pleasant, sweet flavor.
 Commonly available varieties in Pakistan are greenish-yellow.
 The unique taste and richness in its flavor makes it a worldwide favorite.
 Overall, it is considered the best mango in terms of its rich aroma, sweet
taste, juicy pulp and high nutritional value.

Sindhri rootstock Characteristics


 As mango is named as "King of the Fruits"
 Similarly Sindhri is said to be "The King of Mango, is also the national fruit
of Pakistan", because this variety is top in Pakistan.
 Sindhri is yellow in colour, and tastes very sweet.
 Sindhri mangoes were first brought by father of late Prime Minister
Muhammad Khan Junejo from Bombay and then cultivated at Sindhri and it
was named by his father Din Muhammad Junejo as "Sindhri".

2-Banana:
Banana Rootstock Basrai:

 Basrai is the leading commercial variety of Cavendish group and is


a leading commercial variety of Maharashtra.
 The plant stature is Dwarf making it less prone to wind damage.
 The bunch size, the fruit length and size is quite good though the
keeping quality is rather poor.

Banana Rootstock Dwarf Cavendish:

 Produces large bunches of medium-sized fruit.

 It is widely planted and better adapted to the cool climate of the


subtropics than most other commercial cultivars.

 'Dwarf Cavendish' is recommended for south Florida where, in frost-free


years and with good care, it produces abundant fruit.


 One disadvantage to the 'Dwarf Cavendish' is its susceptibility to Black
Sigatoka disease.

 This particular cultivar has found great flavor in Florida as a backyard


banana because of its ability to reliably produce fruit with a minimum of
care by the homeowner.

3-Strawberry:
 There is no one variety of strawberry which possesses all the desirable
characteristics.
 Some are superior to others only because of certain characteristics.
 In general, the differences in tastes between different varieties are not
given as much weight as in case of some other fruits.
 Some of its superior varieties enjoy colour that is very attractive.
 Its varieties grown in Pakistan are Chandelier, Corona and Stuff.
 These are mostly sour and small in size.

4-Papaya:

Red Lady Papaya Rootstock:

 Red Lady is a dwarf self pollinating variety.


 That is also especially resistant to papaya ring spot virus and can also be
container grown, excellent for colder areas.
 The fruit typically weigh four to six pounds, and it has excellent flavor,
aroma, and texture.

Washington Papaya Rootstock:

 It is a table purpose variety.


 Fruits are round to ovate, medium-large in size with few seeds.
 When ripe, skin attains a bright yellow colour.
 The average weight of fruit ranges from 1.5-2 kg.

5-Olive:
Olive Rootstock of Arbequina:

 These are very small, even tiny olives that are a medium brown
color.
 They are characterized by a small amount of pleasantly bitter
flesh on each olive.
 They are always brine cured.
Kalamata Rootstock of Arbequina

 Kalamata olives are pickled in wine vinegar.


 The pickling process develops a very pronounced flavor of salt and
vinegar.
 They have a very meaty flesh which is strong in flavor.
