Allāh has singled out Himself as the One and Only Deity worthy of belief and worship.

He has exalted Himself above

having any partner, peer, or equal. Allāh has ordered His servants to worship Him alone and has decreed various acts
of worship for them. Believing and worshipping Allāh alone is the basic foundation and first pillar of Islām. Allāh says;
“Surely, I am Allāh. There is no god but Myself, so worship Me, and establish Ṣalāh for My remembrance.” (Ṭahā
20:14)
“I am Allāh, the Lord of the worlds.” (Qaṣaṣ 28:30)

Imān in Allāh is the highpoint of all goodness. Without it, good deeds are not accepted, no matter how great in
number they may be, and with it, good deeds are multiplied, no matter how little they may be.

Imān in Allāh is the first thing that all Prophets () invited their people to. It was the core of their invitation and the
very reason why they were sent to people by Allāh. Allāh says;
“We sent revelation to every Messenger before you that, “Without a doubt, there is no deity but Me, so, worship Me
only.” (Ambiyā 21:25)

Countless verses in the Qurʿān refer to the Oneness of Allāh, whether directly or indirectly and warns against
associating partners unto Allāh. The first command to people in the Qurʿān is to worship Allāh alone.
“O mankind, worship your Lord, who created you and those before you.” (Baqarah 2:21)

In every ritual prayer, the Muslim makes a pledge to Allāh to observe the principle of Imān in Allāh by confessing;
“You alone do we worship, and from You alone do we seek help.” (Fātiḥah 1:5)

Imān in Allāh is the right of Allāh and the very first obligation of the servants towards Allāh. When the Prophet (as)
sent Muʿādh (ra) to Yemen he instructed him;

It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said: "The Messenger of Allah said to Mu'adh when he sent him to Yemen: 'You are
going to some of the People of the book. When you come to them, call them to testify that there is none worthy of
worship except Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. If they obey you in that, then tell them that
Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, has enjoined on them a charity (Zakah) to be taken from their rich and given to their
poor. If they obey you in that, then beware of the supplication of the oppressed person."'(Sunan an-Nasa'i 2435)
