Clinical Simulation Administration (CSA)

Activities’ Brief Report

 First opened in 2013


 Accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) in mid 2013.
 Received the recognition and the accreditation of the American College of Surgeons in December 2013
to provide the ATLS course.
 Facilitated the collaboration agreement between King Abdullah Medical City (KAMC) and the Royal
College of Canada (RC) as KAMC signed the official collaboration service contract in 17th May 2015.
 The accreditation process of the Simulation Center by RC started mid 2015. In 15th November 2015, a
Preparatory Visit by Dr. Karim Qayumi was the first step of the accreditation process. The new building
design was approved; Simulation Tender for equipments and manikins was also finalized during the
follow-up visits by Dr. Qayumi.
 Signed a contract with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) in 18th January 2016 to
provide their physicians and residents in different programs with several inter-professional Simulation
training courses and workshops.
 In May 2016, CSA offered and coordinated several events (Workshops: Program Directors, CanMEDS
Implementation, Critical Care Response Team: CCRT courses, RC visiting experts to KAMC: Internal
Medicine, Surgery, and KAMC exam observers to RC exams: Internal Medicine, Surgery).
