1. You are at the railway station. You want to travel to London (or equivalent). I work in
the Information Centre. You need to ask me some questions.

2. You are at the bus station. You want to travel to Manchester (or another city you
know). I work in the Information Centre. You need to ask me some questions.

3. You are in the student travel centre. You want to get a student travel card. I work in
the travel centre. You need to ask me some questions.

4. You are at the bus stop. You want to visit your friend but you don’t know which bus to
take. I am at the bus stop. You need to ask me some questions.

5. You are at the travel agents. You want to book a flight. I work in the travel agents.
You need to ask me some questions.

6. You are in the park with your friends. You want to hire bicycles for the day.
I work in the hire office. You need to ask me some questions.

Entry 2 Component 2 Specimen group discussion prompts

(Up to 10 minutes)

1. For this part of the exam you are going to talk together about television programmes.
Talk about programmes in England and in your country and say what you like
and dislike about them.

Supplementary point – ONLY to be used if the discussion comes to a

natural end well before the allocated time.

Now talk about English television channels. Which one is your favourite?

2. For this part of the exam you are going to talk together about children. Talk
about the differences between what children can do and say in England and
in your country, and say what you like and dislike about English children.
