Colorado’s Best Drinks

We know that people spend their hard earned money to enjoy our delicious drinks and truly
want them to get what they pay for. We hold ourselves to very high standards and do third
party lab testing on all our products. We source our broad spectrum hemp extract from some of
the most well respected providers in the industry and they do third party testing on every batch
we buy.

The problem with most labs doing testing on "water soluble" hemp extracts is that they must
follow certain protocols to ensure they get the correct outcomes. There are many different
methods used, and definitely no industry standards. It is very rare for labs to actually do an
analysis on a full 12oz. can as it is very expensive. Rather, they take a small sample, no more
than a drop, and test that hopes to derive a conclusion about the product as a whole. The fault
with this method is that the emulsion created by the enrobing of nano particularized
cannabinoids in a carrying agent is never perfect. There is what we call 'fall out' from the
solution. That simply means that it may in fact be more highly concentrated at the bottom of
the can. There is also the issue with the carriers themselves sticking to the liner of the cans. This
was a big problem in the early days but we have worked hand in hand with our can
manufacturer to combat that very issue. Bottom line is that it is very difficult to accurately test
for cannabinoids that have been made water missable for use in beverage.

I do know that we put in exactly the amount of hemp extract in every can that what we say we
do. We spend hundreds of thousands of dollars purchasing the very best Colorado made hemp
extracts. We do continual R&D and are always looking for ways to improve the efficacy of our
products. We also pride ourselves on our work with the Colorado Department of Health as well
as with the FDA to stay compliant with all the rules and regulations to offer our customers safe
and delicious drinks.

Colorado's Best Drinks strives to craft the very finest beverages in the World. We have nothing
to hide and encourage you to come see our operation for yourself. Unlike most of our
competitors, we actually make our own products here in Denver. We have production logs
listing the ingredients of everything we have ever made as well as the corresponding COA's on
all of the hemp extracts we have ever used. Please let me know if you have any questions or if
you would like any supporting documentation.

Willie’s Remedy Coffee

Willie’s Remedy coffee is infused with full-spectrum hemp oil, no isolates or binding agents. In
our patent-pending whole-bean infusion method, hemp oil combines with the naturally
occurring oils in coffee, then is reabsorbed into the bean, where it is stored until it’s ground and
brewed.

Quick note: As you likely know, the science of cannabinoid lab testing is still developing, and the
methods these state-licensed laboratories use to test the potency of infused edibles (including
drinks) varies dramatically from chocolates to gummies, brownies to hard candies, bottled
beverages to brewed coffees. So a lab uses an entirely different methodology to test the
potency of a chocolate than it does a gummy, and each lab has its own set of often-proprietary
protocols. Because our product is unique in the market, as there aren’t many infused whole-
bean coffees out there, most labs have yet to develop protocols for a product that is brewed via
hot water, and we’ve found that this uniqueness can confuse labs that don’t have more
experience with this specific kind of product. That said, here’s a little more about our unique
CBD coffee—especially given that cannabis is not water soluble.

Brewed coffee is made up of water, oil and micro-particles. It is a liquid that has a high oil
content and a lot of dissolved solids in it, as well. The highest concentrations of the CBD
cannabinoid are in the oil, and they bind to the micro-particles. (Because as you know, cannabis
is not naturally water-soluble.) When coffee is hot, the micro-particles are suspended evenly in
the liquid, and as it cools, they begin to settle to the bottom and sides of the cup.

Testing protocol relies on different solvents to extract from oils, liquids or solids. Coffee is a
combination of all three.

We’re pleased to hear the results for the grounds were spot on. We take great pride in our
infused coffees and teas, and we’re confident our brewed coffee, when tested via the proper
methodology, also contains spot-on levels of CBD.

Suzie’s CBD Treats

Thank you for allowing us to contribute our input. With all of our products at Suzie's we aim to
give 5-10% over what we advertise in an attempt to ensure our customers never get less than
what they are promised. However, 25% is higher than what we would like to see.

Due to the natural separation that occurs in organic peanut butter, the CBD can rise to the top
and become heavily concentrated. We encourage all of our customers to be sure to give their
product a thorough mix before administering to get the most consistent administration
possible.

Additionally, the Suzie’s Goes Nuts peanut butter is the newest product in the Suzie’s line so as
we progress we will be sure to refine our process until the desired potency is consistency
created.

Botanacor
The comments regarding both the coffee and the soda express the perceived difficulties faced
by laboratories in extracting, recovering, and analyzing these products. However, if the
challenges with the testing of these matrices are due to the nature of the product and their
delivery (oil in water, settling, adherence to packaging) then these same challenges exist for the
end user in getting the active ingredient of these products into their bodies. As we discussed,
Ryan, these samples were subsampled (a portion removed from the whole) by 9 News and this
subsample was provided to Botanacor for analysis. The test results accurately reflect the
cannabinoids measured in these subsamples.

Botanacor in direct response to Willie’s Remedy:

While much of this statement is true of cannabinoid testing industry wide, this sample was
tested by our laboratory using validated methods and robust quality systems and this coupled
with our experience with these products I can confidently say that we know how to accurately
extract, recover, and quantify cannabinoids regardless of the product type.

. Again, as we discussed, Ryan, as these samples were subsampled it is possible that the
cannabinoids could have settled to the bottom and sides of the cup and were not captured by
the subsample submitted to Botanacor. The testing could be repeated on both a hot and cooled
sample to test the theory that temperature impacts the homogeneity of the brewed product.
This data would be useful to better understand the potential impacts this could have if one
were to cold brew this using these coffee beans.

Botanacor in direct response to Colorado’s Best Drinks:

We have a validated method developed specifically for testing “water soluble” hemp extracts.
However, in the production of soda and other aqueous (water-based) products the “water
soluble” hemp extracts have already been solubilized or dissolved by water as the majority of
the soda is carbonated water. Thus, the analytical recovery of cannabinoids, if present, is then a
relatively simple process. Again, as we discussed, Ryan, as these samples were subsampled it is
possible that the cannabinoids could have “fallen out” of the solution and were not
homogenously distributed at the time when the subsample was taken and submitted to
Botanacor for analysis.
