AND MEDIA INDUSTRY
Recently, Indonesia has becoming one of the
fastest growing market for entertainment and
media industry. Indonesia with 30 % of its 253
million citizens in the middle socio-economic
class and with average economic growth of
6.1 % for the last 10 years, in 2014 has hosted
more than 826 screens from 186 cinemas, 13
terrestrials TV, 12 networking TV and 20 paid
TV. Unfortunately, this huge market is barely
touched by Indonesian themselves and that’s
why we make the initiative to make some
changes with this event. WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
It was all started in Baros, a place located in

Indonesia has great potency for human
resources in the development of animation film
industry, Not only that there are hundreds of
animation studios spread around Indonesia, a
lot of indonesian professional artists also
proved that they can work in notable animation
companies around the world. For the last 5
years, animation studies in Indonesia has
been growing up significantly, it can be seen
from the raising of animation major and
animation course held in several universities
and vocational high schools.
Cimahi, West Java, Indonesia where lots of
animation enthusiasts has been visiting this
place since Cimahi Creative Association (CCA)
was established in 2009. CCA is an organization
that focused in supporting Indonesia’s digital
content industry by providing a place and training
facility to develop the much needed human
resources’ skills. With full support from The
Cimahi Government, Baros International
Animation Festival (BIAF) was first held in 2013
as one of our step to expand the Indonesia’s
insights, knowledge and also strengthening our
industry’s networking with other stakeholders
from around the world.
Our main purpose for this event is that so we can
accelerate our animation industry development
and giving more contribution in the global scale.

DESCRIPTION
Now days, animation has become a lucrative business
along with the significant technology development in the
world. By this advancement of technology and social
media, animation can be enjoyed not only in it's
conventional platform such as television and cinema but
also in innovative media like virtual reality, augmented
reality and OTT streaming apps.

To make use of this phenomenon, we need to find

which business models that will be really suitable and
feasible to be applied in Indonesia's animation industry.
As we can prove its profitability, animation producers
and investors should be willing to catch up this
opportunities. This forum will explore the potency of
animation industry with prominent name as our
speakers and gather up excited investors and animation
studios alike from all around Indonesia.

DESCRIPTION
There are thousands of animation students in Indonesia
who have been studying and creating animation to tell
their own stories in many visual styles. These students
are potential talents that should be appreciated and
developed to strengthen the growth of animation
industry in Indonesia. To encourage these students in
making quality works and exposing their exceptional
talent to the world, this award will be given for those
who can show their passion in animation through their
masterpiece.

KIDS COSPLAY CONTEST

DESCRIPTION
Children are the largest market segmentation for most
animation companies around the world to distribute
their intellectual property (IP). For this purpose
animation films are usually made to looked funny and
entertaining to watch, so these children can feel related
to their favorite characters. The success of these IPs
are determined by how they can get into the children’s
mind consistently and be involved in their daily lives.

This Kids Cosplay Contest is one of the way to ensure it

as playing cosplay is really close psychologically to
these children’s imaginative world. This contest will be
a media for IP’s creators/ developers for getting closer
to children as their target market and at the same time
this contest will help children to gain their confidence
when performing on the stage in a fun way.
