This House would ban the physical punishment of students by teachers

Agree
 It should not be a teachers job
It is not a teachers job to discipline kids it is the parents. The children feel abused because their getting
spanked by people they are not attached to. Being punished by your actual family is more effective. And
some teachers abuse their right to do corporal punishment. Parents do not know what they are doing in
the classroom. And it is not effective because the children will not show respect they will show fear.
Corporal punishment can also lead to resentment to the parents. Which of course is not good. It can lead
to rebellion and character change in child over time

 School is supposed to prepare you for the real world

Well that's the general rule of thumb. And abuse is not accepted as such 'in the real world'. Yeah it's
used, but not legally. If someone does something wrong outside of school, you can't just hit them. I
believe that violence should not be accepted, encouraged or tolerated, especially in a 'safe' school
environment.

 Corporal punishment is of no use

Teachers do hit Children.Because they don't do their homework or don't sit quiet. That is what the fuss is
about, like teachers just find chances to beat children. Or we could finish this whole thing. I mean why
can't they just quietly talk sense into them or at the maximum just scold them. Why use corporal
punishment? I am totally in the favour of its ban

 It does more harm than good.

Schools are supposed to be a safe, healthy environment, which isn't the case to begin with because of
bad students, so teachers are supposed to be someone they can go to for help. But if the student starts
to fear the teacher then school will no longer be seen as a safe place at all. Hitting a child isn't going to
get them to respect you, it's going to get the child to fear you. Hitting someone can cause not only
physical damage, but psychological damage as well. Corporal punishment should be banned. No doubt
about it.

 Corporal punishment in school is horrible

It is horrible that teachers should hit and injure children for doing something wrong. It makes absolutely
no sense at all! It could affect the student or damage them for the rest of their life. There are so many
other ways to punish or discipline a child (like grounding), but there is no reason to hurt them.

 I'm totally against it

My honest opinion is I totally agree with the people who are against corporal punishment. It is totally un
necessary. And to think that a child's teacher is hitting them just makes me sick. If it were my child I
would immediately take my child out of that school and report the teacher.

 Corporal punishment is abuse

The general idea of hitting a human, especially with a paddle, is assault if done to an adult, or child
abuse if done to a child at home. Hitting children would instill in them that violence is an acceptable way
to get what you want, and will come to school in fear.

 Corporal punishment is immoral and should be banned.

Corporal punishment should not occur no matter what the circumstances are in schools. It needs to be
banned due to the mental and physical effects that it has on the children. Students should not have to
go to school in fear that they are going to be hit as a form of punishment.

 Corporal Punishment Is A Bad Idea For Schools Hands Down

Through my prospective corporal punishment related disciplines in school do not improve school safety,
learning, or behavior. It can cause a student to get hurt or may make their behavior worse. It can also
bring back memories to those who have had a history of being abused by parents. It can really affect the
brain and damage a student. Who knows they could have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. ( PTSD.) I
strive to stop corporal punishment from being aloud at schools. It just isn't the right way. There are many
other ways to discipline, and I know it isn't corporal punishment.

 Children get hurt

Kids will not go to school if they get punished in a physical way. Many children don't go to school because
they are to scared to get hurt. I don't want to see children getting hurt from being hit by their teachers.
The kids are innocent they don't need to be punished.
 Because by this a child can go in pressure
We also can understand them by loving method. There should be alternative way to enforcing discipline.
Beating and scolding little child will hardly help them become remorseful. , Whereas talking to them or
councelling them might just be a better idea. Ahtetall, A child is a child and always needs an attention.

 Corporal punishment should be abolished

Corporal punishment in schools should be abolished

Corporal punishment has been used in schools as a way of handling disciplinary problems. It refers to
school rules which allow students to be punished using physical pain without causing injury. It is believed
that using punitive method can promote students’ obedience and reduce problematic behaviour. As a
result, It can decrease the number of disciplinary cases and maintain order inside the classroom.
Indirectly, It will help to build students’ discipline. Thus, Teachers can focus on teaching the students.
However, I believe that corporal punishment will bring more harm than benefits. Therefore, The practice
of corporal punishment in schools should be abolished.

 Corporal punishment can give your child mental illness!

I was hit by my mom and my school teachers when I was a child. I ended up diagnosed with Obsessive
compulsive disorder as I refused food in my teenage years.
Let my past be a living example on how hitting your child with Corporal punishment can really screw up
his / her life!

 Hitting comes in all forms and it's wrong in practically all forms if done for nothing

Spanking/smacking deserves to go, not just in schools but in the homes and in public property, too.

If prison spanking happens despite being arrested for spanking children then i'd suggest death penalties
done to prisoners including hanging if they spanked their child in the same cell. Death penalty is the only
valid form of justice to be delivered to prisoners you can't control.

The whole "He who spares the rod hates his son" thing doesn't make sense anymore. Pain and love are
completely unrelated things as far as most people know, relations with pain and love is nonexistent. The
English language made consciousness easier than ever.

 Hitting comes in all forms and it's wrong in practically all forms possible.

Should be outlawed, anytime, anywhere, not just in schools.

If prison spanking happens despite being arrested for spanking kids, then what we should do is use
death penalties on prisoners including hanging and firing squads for spanking their kids in the same cell.
Honestly, the whole "Who spares the rod hates their son" thing makes no sense anymore. Pain and love
are completely unrelated whatever and however you look at it.

 Corporal punishment can cause a child to become fearful to go to school anymore. The child will
question if that "trusted adult" can be trusted

"The message a toddler gets from a slap or spanking is that a[...] trusted adult is[...]that the childern
are left[...] feeling fear, shame[...]." Childern are left fearful if that person their PARENT said they could
solmly trust hits them. The child should not be punished by someone who isnt thier parent.

 Hitting is wrong

We all know violence is wrong yet, we repeatedly hurt our children for doing something wrong, if we
know violence is wrong why do we continue? Do you not think our children will think "since he is doing
something wrong I should hit him"? This is definitely unacceptable! ! !

 Parents should not use corporal punishment to discipline kids.

I believe that corporal punishment should be banned at home as well as in school because when parents
use corporal punishment it is a bad influence to the child, and because the child got hit, the child may
feel angry and insecure and put all their anger in to another child invading their privacy and logically
constitutes a problem. Another reason why I think corporal punishment should be banned is because
when the child gets hit they might get very violent and the parents can’t calm them down because they
might not interact with each other. The child needs days to calm them down so the child might bully
someone consistently.

According to Debate.Org “Spanking promotes violence. Adults shouldn't teach kids that violence is
acceptable. Though discipline is necessary and essential spanking doesn't work.” When parents use
corporal punishment to discipline their kids it shows them violence and kids at a certain age shouldn't
know about violence because unlike other parents who resolves the problem on how to discipline their
kids instead of using corporal punishment. But for the parents who use corporal punishment their child
can affect other kids like bully them hit them and they would think it is okay when it isn't.

When adults use corporal punishment to discipline kids they can affect their behavior and their life for
example they can make a child rebellious so much that they might not even go to school which is
logically bad for a child.

 See Victoria England

They beat children, and how many villian there were? Millions and more. People rebel if they are beaten.
Especially children. To creat peace and a non-violence society, we must ban it. Also, we should teach
children with love and care, not violence, especially some parents don't know the degree of the lashes.

 It is hypocritical and ineffective.

"Don't hit your peers, yet stand still while we hit you" is very hypocritical. Teachers are literally hitting
people younger than them for hitting others of their age. Also, pain is momentary but boredom lasts
forever. Boredom is the one thing children cannot stand. If a teacher gives a child detention or a parent
sends them to their room, they won't want it to happen again, causing them to avoid acting bad.

Disagree

 1. Not abuse 2. Effective 3. Necessary 4. Decision-making

1. Corporal punishment does not mean abuse. People often mixed them up. This is a point that needs to
be taken note of.
2. Research has shown that kids spanked below the age of 6 is more successful.
3. Sometimes spanking is necessary if the child in question is hard to teach or hard to control. Don't
spank children too oftenly though, It might damage their mental spirits permanently.
4. Child has option to either obey the rules or to cause trouble. , By teaching them to choose between
these two options by using corporal punishment, You are helping the child to know that consequences
may hurt, And to help further develop the child's desicion-making skills.

 Good for the children.

We are living in difficult times, Difficult in more ways than one. And it is necessary for us to understand
the issues that face us and decide how we are going to fashion our lives. And these difficult things
include the entry of harmful elements in the society, More use of mobiles, Computers, Internet, Social
media and interactions with mischievous people. All these things have a very harmful impacts specially on
children. They are so much influenced with these things because they don't know what is good or what is
bad.

And we, As adults as matures, Should make them understand and the consequences of all those above
mentioned things. At first attempt we should explain them. If they do it again, We should explain them
again. At third attempt we can again explain them. But afterwards they do, They must get punishments,
They must be beaten because they will remember these punishments for long time and they will think
before doing it again. The pain that they will feel will last only for few minutes or for few hours but they
will understand the thing for the long time. This will be beneficial for future in along run.

 Children won't learn

Nowadays children has develop into a different kind of human they can change their own personality. But
corporal punishment can make them remember that do not do the same mistake. So corporal
punishment can teach those childish and inexperience kids to learn their lesson. So we should support
corporal punishment.

 No we should not ban punishmentsa

People need to learn there lesson. People are doing wrong thing earning money going jail for one year
and don't care. ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

 If the child deserves it them the guardian

It is no ones business on how a parent punishes their child, know if that parent is abusing and beating
the living life out of the child (THAT RIGHT THERE IS CHILD ABUSE) know if the parent smacked the
child's bottom a couple times and put them in the corner then talked to them about the spanking and
why they deserved it then that is punishment.

 It will improve the lives of people who were bullied

There is a real thinking about the bully victims that if they tell the teachers, it will worsen the problem.
But if there was a system of corporal punishment behind the teaches that would scare the bullies away,
the victims could open up and agree to share their bullied ways with their teachers because they would
know something definitive could be done.

 For home environments only, not schools.

Like any other privilege, it can easily be abused. Open palm to the arm, thigh, or buttock is fine. The
problem stems from introducing belts, paddles, and radio antennas to the mix. In other words, objects.
These things do more than just scare the child. They mess with their heads and emotions, leaving them
damaged into adulthood. They tend to be more violent and unstable as adults. If an open palm is used,
the child is left with no marks and very little memories while at the same time, feeling a large amount of
fear at in that moment, causing them to understand that what they just did was wrong and remember
that its wrong. In addition, if started at a young age, the child will learn right from wrong very quickly.
Then maybe when they get older, they may not need to be hit anymore.

 Families should be free to do what they wish.

Although I've learned that corporal punishment causes depression, lowers self esteem, and other bad
effects, I believe that families are free to punish their children however they wish. Spanking, even though
is not a good thing, should not be banned and should be up to the legal guardian to decide their
children's punishment.

 It will be easy to the teachers to bring students on the right track...

It would keep kids in their right places..Kids now days have a lot of right and freedom..Which they are
taking advantage of it...The parents at home must be given the right to smack the child to bring them on
the right track....So please bring back the corporal punishments in every school

 It is good for certain times.

It would keep kids in their place and make sure they wont do whatever bad think they did. Also it would
make sure to let all the other kids know not to do that so they will be terrified. But besides school and
keeping the punishment not very violent there shouldn't be any because there are too many violent
grown ups already.

 I think it should not be baned because i think students will learn from there punihment
Its a fair punishment because some kids dserve it. Im still in school and the retards that are in the
principals office everyday should be hit. I'm not a retard because I've never been in the pincipals office.
What can i say guess I'm a goody goody. Thats why we should get hit.

 No it should not be banned

Im a student and in my opinion the kids would learn from their mistakes , i see the kids in school and
none of them have any discipline , i think it would be go reinforcer to help the youth in school the back
talk , fighting ,bullying it does not stop

 Can have bad effects on students

Using corporal punishment can have physical, mental, and emotional effects to students. Just slapping
their hands by using paddles and force them to obey rules can make students have oppositions. In this
part, I think using positive reinforcement can make students happy, and also make teachers be happy.
Giving badges or points will make students encourage to do well in the school.

 Agree to it

I think it teaches kids to bet better disciplined! They are actually scared of it.. Rather then detention
where they are like.. Whatever... Detention! I don't see a big problem for having it at all! There are
proven results that your kids have more respect!! All the way I agree with it!

 Not learning from fear...

People against corporal punishment say that kids need to be self disciplined as opposed to being
cooperative out of fear, but it's not necessarily fear. Its more knowledge and awarness. For example, a
kid burns themselves on a stove. They know what happens if you touch the burner and won't ever do it
again. Does that necessarily mean that they're going to stay a good 50 feet from a stove for the rest of
their lives because they're scared to get burned? No!
Corporal punishment teaches kids not to do something again because they're aware of the consequences.

 Little things cant hurt

Corporal punishment isn't beating your child. Its just spanking them or hitting them with an object so
they learn. Beating is a different subject. Even though I was alive years ago, that hitting a student with a
paddle was allowed. They weren't injured just hit so they wouldn't do it again and learn from their
mistake. It also serves even if you aren't hit, you learn from others mistakes

 Kids will not learn unless a real punishment is given

Some students don't care if you send them to detention or have an in school suspension or get yelled at,
they just keep causing trouble. The teachers don't paddle someone for no reason, they've done their
wrong. This connects the spot between bad behavior and their consiquences. Also, parents get to sign
something if the teachers can or can't use corporal punishment.

 Up to the parents...

I, personally, never attended a school that still used corporal punishment (at least as far as I know) but
I'm not completely against the idea if the parents are presented with a document explaining the types of
discipline and they are required to sign the document for their kid to be disciplined in such a manner.
Otherwise, the parents should be adequately prepared to issue their own punishments to their children.

 Corporal punishment isn't abuse!

Corporal punishment is different from abuse. Corporal punishment isn't going up to kid and back handing
them it is a paddling that leaves a slight red mark. In most schools they need the parents permission
before they can even paddle the kids. I agree that it can damage kids that have mental issues, but the
parents should know if the kid has a mental issue and tell the school they don't want them paddled.

 It is bad...

No one has the right to beat any child.... Ok it is bad to beat a child.... People who beat the child are bad
people... They dont have the right to do so... If teachers beat children, they dont have the right to teach
them in schools

This House Would Allow corporations to use hackers to retaliate against cyber attacks where

In matters of internet security, China is very concerned. For this country the blocking of critical
information from pro-democracy activities is very important so as not to undermine the establishment in
the country.

China has a Great Firewall to filter internet content. This large-scale internet censorship system helps
China block "negative" content from both domestic and foreign related to the government there.

In addition to having a Great Firewall, China now has a Great Cannon. According to several researchers
from the University of California Berkeley and the University of Toronto as reported by the New York
Times on Saturday (11/4), the Great Cannon system is the same as that of the US National Security
Agency (NSA).

This model mimics what the US and Britain are doing, like the leak said by former NSA contractor Edward
J Snowden.

Great Cannon is a computer system outside of Chinese jurisdiction that can be used to attack content
that is not in agreement with the government. With programming changes, the hacking technology
system can send viruses to anyone's computer that is communicating with a Chinese-owned server that is
not equipped with encryption protection.

"Great Cannon can send malware to infect target computers wherever they are, while trying to access an
internet server from China," said John Scott-Railton, security researcher as reported by CNN, Tuesday
(4/14).

Great Cannon technology makes it possible to hijack internet data and redirect it to certain sites that
have been controlled by hackers or contain viruses. It is believed that the attack has claimed millions of
computers, and even one of the victims, Baidu, a Chinese search engine company.

According to the telematics observer who is also the Secretary General of the Indonesia
Telecommunication User Group (IDTUG) Muhammad Jumadi, Indonesia's security system needs to be
made resilient like China, because it concerns security and the domestic economy.

Facilities owned by the Network Security Operational Agency, aka the Indonesia Security Incident
Response Team on Internet Infrastructure / ID-SIRTI, according to Jumadi, are inadequate to monitor
attacks. Moreover, this institution is only tasked with monitoring that has not yet reached the counter. "If
security is safe, why are there still three big banks collapsing?" He said.

According to him the internet security system is still vulnerable to attacks. Banking so far is still often
conceded, but not all of them appear to the media, because it is feared that there will be a massive
withdrawal of funds (threat) that threatens the country.

Currently Indonesia needs a sophisticated security system to protect from cyber attacks. He hopes the
government will soon form a National Cyber Agency (BCN) which can be used as a coordinator to
respond to major threats to the country.

The Indonesian economy also needs protection from attacks on public transactions. The rise of e-
commerce requires a reliable security system. So far, according to Jumadi, the rise of e-commerce has
not been supported by an adequate security system.

The Ministry of Communication and Information, according to Jumadi, needs attention on this issue. "The
Ministry of Communication and Information should care about security, not only dealing with operators
selling 3G and 4G networks," he said.the state seems unwilling or unable to do so.

Prone "e-Commerce" Security

The development of the telecommunications, e-commerce, e-banking and SMS banking sectors which are
intensifying virtual money needs security system support. Do not let a weak security system make the
economy collapse because of mistrust.

Antivirus vendor, Eset, predicts the trend of attacks in 2015 will target online payment systems.
Increased online payments driven by high electronic commerce data traffic that reflects the number of
transactions.

"The potential for attacks on the Internet will continue to increase in line with the increasing
technological sophistication," said Yudhi Kukuh, Technical Consultant of PT Prosperita (Eset Indonesia).

Not only the business sector, but the public sector has also become an attack. Verisign's report with
iDefense Security Intelligence Services found that public sector users have increased the most attacks.

Attacks on the public sector reached 15 percent of the total mitigation carried out by Verisign in the 4th
quarter ago. The average DDoS attack increased by 14 percent from the number of attacks in the third
quarter of 2014, and increased 245 percent from the previous year.

As elaborated on iDefense’s 2015 Cyber Threats and Trends blog, the combination of online and real
protest movements contributed to the increasing DDoS attack as a strategy against organizations,
including the public sector, during 2014.

Hacktivism attacks as a reaction to some activities that get people's attention. Online and real protest
movements contributed to the increasing DDoS attack as a strategy against organizations, including the
public sector, during 2014.

Security system observer Hendry Wirawijaya said the security system must continue to be updated.
Because the criminals continue to look for loopholes to enter the company's firewall in various ways.
"Criminals want to know a lot of information from the company. First, where do they first test the gap,
"he said.

After the first method does not penetrate, he continued, will be followed by the next method and so on.
This step is usually done by criminals using targeted attacks.

Criminals target certain companies to steal information and other motives. Therefore, said Hendry,
organizations should have sophisticated tools to fight attacks. Organizations, both corporations and the
public sector need to have a security system that is constantly being updated.
He considered that many companies were still ignorant of the security system. They think without a
security system the company can still work. Yet by leaving without a security system it means that at any
time the company can stop operating because of an attack.

He added that the security system was relatively inexpensive. The security system can be bought by
looking at the risk of the company, so it can be bought in part only. "If the risk is only 100 thousand, but
buying a 500 thousand security system doesn't make sense," he said.

The security system is sold by taking into account the risks and the number of users (users). The security
system, said Hendry, is quite flexible in accordance with the capacity and capabilities of the organization.

At present, although the banking sector is still being broken, it is quite compliant with the security
system. The problem is that the banking sector must comply with security standards that the government
requires. They are also audited regularly, whether they meet international safety standards or not.
