THE snail’s pace of our Wi-Fi is truly disappointing to users, especially students who
need to access the Internet to look for resources connected with their studies or
conduct research to complete their assignments.
We have to wait for a long time to get connected, and it can become very stressful
especially when there are papers to be completed. At times, we can’t connect to the
Internet at all because hundreds of students are using the same line simultaneously.
We try to go to coffee shops that offer free Wi-Fi but the connection is also slow. And
while doing research online, we often get disconnected out of the blue.
We pay a huge amount to our service provider but what we get in return is quite
unsatisfactory. However, it is the only choice we have. Wi-Fi coverage in other
countries such as Singapore and Hong Kong is way better than ours. We hope the
telecommunication companies in our country can find a solution to this problem.
Please increase the Wi-Fi speed.

Hossein has been having problems with his cable TV service. He called the company and asked them
to send a technician to look at it. The technician did not arrive at the scheduled time, and when he did
arrive two hours late, he said he could not do the repair. Hossein wrote a letter of complaint.
Letter 1

August 25, 2011

Dear Sir (or Madam):

My cable TV service has not been working since yesterday and I would like it fixed
immediately.

Yesterday I reported the problem to the technical support helpline and arrangements were
made to send a technician today at 9 AM. The technician arrived at 11 AM, and then left after
ten minutes saying he couldn’t fix the problem. He did not indicate when the problem would be
properly addressed. He only said he would tell his supervisor.

I have called the technical support helpline, but I am not able to get a satisfactory response.
All I am told is that the ticket for the service call is open and no further information is available.
Even the supervisor at the helpline is not able to give me further information.

Help me please!
