PLC.
Firmware 2.40
• CPU switchover is validated for PLCs with Dual I/O link Redundancy (2MLR-
DBDT/H/F) when the I/O base is turned OFF and then turned ON.
• On changing the Master CPU using CPU key or PADT, the Standby CPU does not
show ‘stby’ in the new firmware version.
• In a dual ring PLC configuration, if Hot swapping of base is enabled, all the field
values arriving at the base are updated properly when I/O base is turned OFF and
turned ON.
Firmware 2.50
• Provides support for upgraded DISOE module (2MLF-SOEA) with external time
synchronization feature.
• Resolved the ‘USB abnormal frame’ processing to prevent WDT error, on CPUs with
the new USB hardware.
• Resolved the 'Write to FEnet module' command processing error, on the standby
CPU.
• Resolved the Extended base redundancy operation error after power ON / OFF, in the
2MLR-Manager.
Firmware 2.60
• Provides support only for ML200R PLC.
• Added a new 2MLR flag ‘_REFRESH_NG_BASE’ (Bitmap value display during
Refresh NG base), which enhances the diagnostics between ML PLC CPU/IO
Communication.
• 2MLR Driver : Added the WDT in driver module
ATTENTION
The CPU firmware version 2.40 or later is must for systems with 2MLR-
DBDT/H/F.
Firmware 2.72
• Quick Connection function can be enabled in Redundancy Parameter Setting when Hot
Swapping(Base) is enabled.
• When Hot Swapping(Base) is enabled and the certain extension base dropped out
by network issue tries recovering and joining to 2MLR system.
ATTENTION
The CPU firmware version 2.72 or later is must for systems
Firmware 2.74
• Operating flags for 2MLR CPU
%FD116: _PLC_OPERATING_TIME (seconds)
%FD180: _SB_PLC_OPERATING_TIME
• Improved power OFF/ON
ATTENTION
The CPU firmware version 2.74 or later is must for systems
Firmware 2.80
• PLC history function
• The version of SoftMaster is left as System Log, when Online Editing starts.
ATTENTION
The CPU firmware version 2.8 or later is must for systems.

2.2 or above 2.2 or above 2.1 or below Upgrading PLC firmware for
(New USB IC) ML200R Expansion driver
module (redundant and non-
redundant)
ATTENTION
• SoftMaster must be installed to install the USB driver.
• This process involves power cycling the CPU modules. Hence, do not
upgrade the firmware in a running plant.
• During PLC firmware upgradation, ensure to connect the USB cable to
Master CPU.
• You can download the firmware files, tool, software, and documentation
from: https://www.honeywellprocess.com/en-
US/explore/products/control-monitoring-and-safety-systems/scalable-
control-solutions/Pages/masterlogic-plc.aspx
ATTENTION
Honeywell recommends checking the Operating System version of all
modules before upgrading the firmware and making the system online. This
procedure avoids firmware mismatch warning.

Step Action
ATTENTION
• The Expansion Manager/Driver module OS cannot be upgraded online.
• Honeywell recommends reading the OS version of the expansion driver
before upgrading. For more information, refer to the Reading firmware
version section.
To upgrade PLC firmware for Expansion driver module (redundant and non-redundant),
perform the following steps.
Step Action
1 Change both the CPUs to STOP mode, and ensure that the key switch is in
REMOTE mode.
2 Connect the USB cable to the master CPU.
3 Execute MasterLogic OS Downloader 1.3.exe.
Click .
Step Action
ATTENTION
If there are more than two expansion bases in the system, OS for
all the expansion bases (particular ring) are upgraded at once.
10 If dual I/O link redundant topology is used, then follow the below steps to
upgrade the expansion driver module for both ring network.
a) Change CPU A to CPU B.
b) Connect USB to CPU B and repeat the steps 2 through 9.
Step Action
1 Change both the CPUs to STOP mode, and ensure that the key switch is in
REMOTE mode.
2 Connect the USB cable to the Master CPU.
3 Run MasterLogic OS Downloader 1.3.exe.
Step Action
Click .
ATTENTION
The above procedure also upgrades the Expansion manager OS of
Standby CPU.
10 Power OFF and ON both Master and StandBy CPU (Reset CPU) to make
upgrade firmware online.
Step Action
1 Change both the CPUs to STOP mode, and ensure that the key switch is in
REMOTE mode.
2 Connect the USB cable to the Master CPU.
3 Execute MasterLogic OS Downloader 1.3.exe.
Step Action
6
Click
7
Click .
ATTENTION
Ensure the following status in Standby CPU.
Step Action
ATTENTION
• Only CPU firmware version can be upgraded online and not Expansion
Manager/Driver.
• Ensure that the CPU OS version to be installed is compatible with the
existing Expansion driver/Expansion manager OS version.
• Contact Honeywell TAC for compatibility versions.
To upgrade PLC firmware for CPU during operation (online), perform the following
steps.
ATTENTION
The following procedure is given by considering the CPU A as Master and
CPU B as Standby.
Step Action
1 Remove the synchronization cable (OFC) between Master CPU (A) and
Standby CPU (B) and all I/O cables connected to Standby CPU (B) to isolate
the Standby CPU (B) from operation.
2 Change the mode from ‘REMOTE’ to ‘RUN’ using a key switch. Hence, the
isolated Standby CPU (B) becomes a Master CPU (B).
3 Change the isolated CPU to STOP mode, and ensure that the key switch is
set back to REMOTE mode
4 Execute MasterLogic OS Downloader 1.3.exe.
Step Action
• Power off the CPU (B) and connect the synchronization cable and I/O
cable to CPU (B).
ATTENTION
• If you are using dual I/O link redundancy (2MLR-DBDT/F/H), you must
upgrade PLC firmware to version 2.40 or later.
The following table shows the type of USB IC and its value for the specified flag type.
Master: %FB300 00 EE
Standby: %FB556 00 EE
ATTENTION
• If the CPU hardware has old USB IC, then BootLoader must be
upgraded before upgrading CPU firmware.
• Serial cable is must for downloading Flashwrite and Bootloader to CPU.
• Downloading Flash Writer is must before loading Bootloader.
Perform the following steps to upgrade CPU with old USB IC to version 2.30/2.50/2.60/2.7x.
Step Action
1 Change both the CPUs to STOP mode, and ensure that the key switch is in
REMOTE mode.
2 Connect the serial cable (PMC-310S) to 2MLR-CPU.
Step Action
5 Turn on the 2MLR-CPU. The CPU LEDs flickers in sequence for Bootloader
upload.
6 Run MasterLogic OS Downloader 1.3.exe. The MasterLogic OS
Downloader v1.2 window appears.
7 Click Connect > Serial Port/CPU Setup. The Connection Setup window
appears.
8 In the Media list, click Serial and then click OK.
9
Click icon.
10
Step Action
Step Action
Note: DO NOT click Write to Flash until the status of the switch changes to
ON.
ATTENTION
Ensure that only the top switch is moved to the right.
15 Click Write to Flash. The CPU LEDs flickers in sequence after the Flashwrite
completion.
Step Action
Click icon.
ATTENTION
Move only the middle switch to right as the top switch is already moved.
Step Action
ATTENTION
After downloading the firmware, ensure that firmware is updated.
