PRS 340: Short Response re Research

One of the major details that effective research is being credible. It’s about what is correct, not
what the reader wants or thinks they need. Its credibility is what makes it effective. Credibility
mixed with publicity of research will help gain the measure success which is every PR’s goal.
They take the facts, show it to the audience that wants (or needs) to hear it, thus gaining them
their time and money objectives.
Overall the major purpose of effective research is to use research based skills to articulate
responses or articles that will help a client’s public response while maintaining credibility and
working with interviewers or the public.

To develop the skills that I have yet to acquire I will use my inductive reasoning skills as they
are used based on personal experiences rather than a generalization. For research, I will be
more focused and try to do get better articles as well as articulate my thoughts better based on
the searches I’m going for. I will digger deeper and grasp concepts that might seem difficult to
test my boundaries and get more involved in the topics. For time management, I hope to look at
my school or work projects as the top of a pyramid that I need to get done in order to reach the
next level down of it; thus managing it better and keeping me more organized throughout the
week. This way I’ll put more energy into them with better prioritizing methods. For website
development I will watch videos, use the new research trick I acquired, or even take a class to
gain the skills that I currently fall short on. I will always ask for help from someone with expertise
if need be. As for international perspectives, Doyle states in her article, “An international,
multicultural perspective begins with recognizing that not all people think in the same ways” (1).
And while I recognize the differences, I need to take a diversity class or talk to a group of people
who know international perspectives on a deeper level than I do. I would like to work with people
who can give me many perspectives and help shape the way I see the world.
