RESOURCE DESCRIPTION
Give a brief description of the technology/resource.
This resource basically allows students to publish online resources in a sort of binder. Instead of having schoolwork in an actual
binder, their schoolwork would be published online. Students can also integrate different websites into the binder and add
images or videos they might find from the internet. Students can make a new tab whenever a new item needs to be added, and
the website automatically makes a table of contents for these tabs. Students can also choose to keep the binder private with
access only being allowed if someone has an access key.

INTEGRATION IDEA - PORTFOLIOS

How might you use this resource in a lesson plan to promote student-centered learning?
Students can save their resources here and keep organized with their learning. While the intention is for it to be a portfolio, I can
also see where students might use it as a collaboration tool by sharing their access code with other group members. Students can
decide what info they want to put on it and show to their teacher, so they could choose their best work and evidence of progress
that could be evaluated for an assessment. In other words, students could choose what gets evaluated and show how they’ve
progressed in their learning.

VALUE-ADDED EXPLANATION
 Based on the “value-added rating scale” above, how would you rate the technology integration you described, using the
selected resource?
 Explain your rating based on the rubric indicators.

I would rate this a 2 because I don’t necessarily see myself making a lesson with this tool as the main component. It is pretty
much a virtual binder, and students could always replace that with a regular binder. However, I see this tool as a great way for
students to show me what internet resources they might have found and to immediately turn assignments in rather than dealing
with the hassle of turning in a paper assignment and the chance that the assignment gets lost in the process. I can definitely see
this tool as an improvement to the way that things are done now. In fact, in the school I’m interning in, students must regularly do
binder checks to ensure they have everything they need, and this tool could allow teachers to do those binder checks online and
outside of class, so that less class time is being wasted on them.
