2. Admission

The following section contains information on admission requirements and restrictions. If you have further questions, please
contact the Service Center Student Affairs (see above).

2.1. Requirements

2.1.1. School Education

The admission requirement for studying at Ingolstadt University of Applied Sciences is the completion of a general /
specialized Higher Education Entrance Qualification (HEEQ) or a technical HEEQ. You can check out for yourself whether you
are eligible to study in Bavaria. Your HEEQ certificate shall therefore clearly refer to this as follows:

„Mr. / Mrs. …….. has passed the final high school examination / final examination for technical colleges etc. and
has therefore qualified to study at any university / university of applied sciences in Germany / Bavaria.”

Some school qualifications completed with a technical HEEQ in other German Federal States may not be automatically
recognized for a study in Bavaria. Unless it appears directly from your entrance qualification certificate that you are eligible to
study in Germany / Bavaria, please contact the

Zeugnisanerkennungsstelle für den Freistaat Bayern

(Certificate Recognition Office for Bavaria)
Postal Address: PO Box 40 20 40, 80720 Munich
Visitor’s Address: Pündterplatz 5, 80803 Munich
Phone: +49 89 383849 – 0
http://www.km.bayern.de/schueler/abschluesse/zeugnisanerkennung.html

You can get there detailed information about the recognition of your entrance qualification certificate in Bavaria or you will be
notified if you have to fulfill additional requirements for being admitted to study. If your certificate is recognized as equivalent to
the German HEEQ, the Zeugnisanerkennungsstelle für den Freistaat Bayern (Certificate Recognition Office for Bavaria) will
send you an official letter about the settled grade point average. You will need to submit an officially certified copy of this
official letter together with your school-leaving certificate (diploma) to Ingolstadt University.

For the admission of qualified professionals, please see www.haw-ingolstadt.de  Study Offer  Admission  Admission of
masters and qualified professionals.

2.1.2. Vocational training (pre-study internship)

Pre-study internship regulations are stipulated by the program and examination regulations of each degree program.
Applicants who did not complete a specialized vocational training (e.g. high-school graduates) or changed their qualification
profile after completing a technical college and / or a vocational school will have to prove before the beginning of studies that
they have completed a specialized vocational training or a practical training of at least six weeks (= pre-study internship) in

compliance with the degree program they have chosen unless stipulated otherwise by the respective program and
examination regulations or other statutes of Ingolstadt University. The pre-study internship shall be preferably attended without
interruption.

Applicants who want to complete a dual study program (studies combined with vocational training or studies combined with
immerged internship) must not complete a pre-study internship if they submit with their application a valid contract with a
company about a dual qualification.

You can find all program and examination regulations of the degree programs as well as other statutes of Ingolstadt University

ingolstadt.de  Application and the “Admission regulations of Ingolstadt University for winter semester 2013/2014 and
summer semester 2014” under www.haw-ingolstadt.de  Study Offer  University Statutes. The examination committees
decide on the distribution of places for a certain semester. Therefore Ingolstadt University cannot provide any binding
information on this process.

2.5. Medical, accident, liability insurance, pension insurance

letter of admission (e.g. completion of pre-study internship, medical insurance) students will receive their student card. For
more information, please see www.haw-ingolstadt.de Application “Information on registration“.

4. Credit weighting
According to art. 61 par. 3 lines 1, 2 no. 4 of the Bavarian Higher Education Act in conjunction with § 17 of General
Examination Regulations for Universities of Applied Sciences and with § 9 of General Examination Regulations of Ingolstadt
University, study periods and examination credits will be weighted during the transition from another university or another
course of study and recognized to the extent that they correspond to the requirements of Ingolstadt University. They will be
recognized when the period of study and the previous academic achievements concerning curriculum, course description and
exigencies basically correspond to those of Ingolstadt University. The recognition of previous academic achievements from
another university will be made ex officio and in the scope of the higher education framework law. University applicants /
students must submit the required documentation for recognition. If students have no previous examination achievements,
they will have to submit a confirmation of the previous university in this respect. The examination committee of the respective
program will usually decide during the application procedure and/or after enrolment whether and to what extent the recognition
may be achieved. Therefore, Ingolstadt University cannot provide any binding information on the recognition of academic
achievements.
