Preparing for Your Presentation to the Judges

Your presentation is as important as any other part of your project. PRACTICE

will make the difference in how well you present your project to the judges.
Remember you do not have to memorize your project, you can use an iPad,
laptop or board to help tell your project “story”. Here is a sample
presentation.

1. Introduce yourself. “Hello my name is….”

2. Give the title of your project. “The title of my project is…”

3. Explain the purpose of your project. Describe the variables.

“The purpose of my project was to find out…”
“My investigation includes these types of variables….”

4. Tell the judge how you became interested in your project.

“I became interested in this project because…”

5. Explain your procedure and the photos on your board.

“To do this experiment I did the following….”

6. Show your results. Create a graph or table with variables indicated.

“I have a data chart and a graph to show you. Here on this board you
can see that …. “

7. List your conclusion.

Explain what you have proven. “My hypothesis was not correct…” or
“My hypothesis was correct because… “

8. Tell the judges what you might do in the future.

Tell what you might do if you continue your experimentation.
What would you do differently if you were to do this project?

9. Tell how your project is important in the big world or real life.
10. Ask if your judges have any questions. Thank them for their time.
