Dear Colleagues,

It is my privilege to invite you to the thirtieth (30th) Session of the Uttar Pradesh History Congress.
I cheerfully acknowledge your unfailing support to the organization that enables us to organize
successful sessions of the Congress regularly.

RENEWAL OF MEMBERSHIP

Only members can become delegates at the session. If you have already enrolled yourself as a
member for any previous session of the Uttar Pradesh History Congress, you already have a
‘Membership Number’ which is given in the address pasted on the copy of this circular. For
renewal of your membership just remit Rs.200/- through Demand Draft or Multi-City Cheque
drawn in favour of ‘Secretary, U.P. History Congress’ on any branch of any bank at Bareilly and
send to the following address. Please do not forget to mention your Name and Membership
Number on the back of the Draft/Cheque.

INITIAL/LIFE MEMBERSHIP

All the eligible persons having degree of M.A. in history or allied subjects can enrol themselves
as Initial Member by sending Rs. 200/- through Demand Draft or Multi-City Cheque drawn in
favour of ‘Secretary, U.P. History Congress’ on any branch of any bank at Bareilly and send to
any of the above-mentioned addresses. One can also directly become a Life Member by sending
Rs. 2000/- in the same way and to the address mentioned above.

ACCOMMODATION AND LOCAL HOSPITALITY

Accommodation will be arranged by the Local Secretary, Khwaza Moinuddin Chishti Arabic-
Persian and Urdu University, Lucknow. However, the delegates will have to pay in advance a
highly subsidized delegation fee of Rs. 800/- only for availing the facility of accommodation and
hospitality.

Kindly note that only the bonafide members of the Congress can attend and present paper
in the academic sessions of Uttar Pradesh History Congress.

SUBMISSION OF RESEARCH PAPERS FOR ACADEMIC SESSIONS

All three session—Ancient, Medieval and Modern History—will be conducted simultaneously in

different rooms. The academic sessions of the Congress shall be open to the members for
presenting their unpublished research papers based on new data or which offers new interpretations
relating to the broader region of Uttar Pradesh. However, the researches pertaining to the adjacent
regions may be considered by our academic committee.

The hardcopy of papers in duplicate along with the summary in about 300 words (typed)
should be sent to the address of the Secretary latest by 30th October, 2019. No paper will be
accepted after the due date and the papers included in the academic program will be given priority
for presentation in the session. We also request you to send soft copies of your papers and abstracts
to the mail ID given below.

PROFESSOR RADHEY SHYAM MEMORIAL LECTURE

Prof. Radhey Shyam Memorial lecture shall be delivered by Prof. M.S. Pundir, School of
Historical Studies, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh in the Inaugural Session after the General
Presidential Address on 16th November, 2019.

DR. (Mrs.) NASREEN AHMAD MEMORIAL LECTURE AND PRIZE FOR BEST
RESERCH PAPER

Dr. (Mrs.) Nasreen Ahmad Memorial Lecture shall be delivered by Dr. Sanghamitra, Former Dy
Director, Indian Council for Historical Research, New Delhi on 16 th November, 2019.

The cash prize of Rs. 5000/- (Five thousand only) will be awarded to the best paper in
Medieval/Modern Indian History presented by a lady delegate. A panel of experts would select the
best paper presented at the Congress and the prize will be given in the subsequent session of the
U.P. History Congress.

PROCEEDING VOLUME

It is expected that the printed volume of the proceeding of the 29 th Session of U.P. History
Congress (2018) will be released in the Inaugural Function on 16th November, 2019. This volume
as well as the earlier volumes will be provided to the members at a highly subsidized rate by
Anamika Publishers and Distributors (P) Ltd., at their counter in the venue of the session. The
same may be collected from their office at Delhi (469/3, 21A, Ansari Road, Daryaganj, New Delhi-
