CHAPTER 1. INTRODUCTION

1.1 Introduction About Team Members

We all five are mechanical engineering sem-3 students. We all are interested and eager to
know anything related to machines. We all share our research with each other. We
believe in getting knowledge as much as possible. We often discuss about our ideas
related to current automobile affairs. We do online research on the various kinds of
machines. We always ask for information and interact with any automobile person whom
we meet. And we are excited about design engineering as it gives us knowledge about
automobile.

1.2 Introduction to Faculty Guide

Mr. Hardik Shah is very decent. He has a wide range of knowledge in almost every area
related to Mechanical and Automobile. He completed his M.E in Cryogenics
engineering. He helps student by sharing his knowledge and his knowledge is really
beneficial. He is a good man with a kind heart.

1.3 Understanding about Design Thinking

A primary purpose of design thinking is to summarize and synthesis the research

on design thinking to better understand its characteristics and processes as well as the
difference between novice and expert design thinker. It is very important for upcoming
engineers like us to develop critical thinking skills, working and managing a team,
completing work on or before time, enhancing the way to look at things, approaching an
d facing problems with different point of view etc. Design thinking helps us enhance and
improve our skills.
CHAPTER 2. EMPATHY MAPPING

2.1 Domain Selection

While surveying we found that in many garages there was a problem we marked that some
workers are suffered from the skin diseases because of they are working with some lubricants
which are harmful for them skin due to direct contact with it. So that using of particular
cleaning method will give them some relief.

2.2 AEIOU Sheet and its Summary

Here AEIOU stands for Activities, Environment, Interaction, Object and User. The summary
contains all the points of AEIOU

2.2.1 Activities
2.2.2 Environment

2.2.3 Interaction

2.2.4 Objects
2.2.5 Users

The AEIOU summary contains all the points regarding the AEIOU sheets.

ACTIVITIES

General : 1) Puncturing the vehicles.

2) Vehicles were being fueled up.

Special : 1) Problem regarding vehicles breakdown.

2) Vehicles were being serviced.

ENVIRONMENT

General : 1) Air pollution due to old cars.

2) Noise pollution due to blowing horns.

Special : 1) Mechanic

2) Automobile Engineer.
2.4 Selected User And Its Stake Holders

The main users of the machines are the workers and automobile engineer. They solve the
problems of vehilcles. The worker repairs the vehicles every day and knows about the fault in
the vehicle. An engineer check the same vehicle daily for their satisfaction purpose. The
Stakeholders of the users are workshop manager, spare parts manager, mechanic. The
workshop manager manages all the work. The mechanic repairs the vehicles and services the
vehicles.

2.5 Activities of Users and Its Stake Holders

Worker talks to the workshop manager regarding fault in vehicles. The worker was
interacting with the mechanic. Workers were getting briefed up about repairing problems.
Workshop Mananger filling forms for the repairing of the fault in their vehicles. The worker
were reporting to their engineer. The mechanic was repairing the breakdown vehicle. The
workshop manager gives approval to the required vehicles. The mechanics were working on
different vehicles. They were replacing worn out clutch plates and air filters. The workshop
manager was talking to the mechanic. He was supervising the work.
2.6 Story Telling

Happy:

Rameshbhai was driving the car at SG highway while passing from Kataria Motors. He felt
that there was some technical problem occurs in his car. He suddenly came out from his car
and he saw that his car was totally punctured so he felt some reliable because only one tyre
was punctured. So he moved away towards the garage very slowly slowly. So garage worker
setup his punctured very accurately after repairing his tyre Rameshbhai moved away and his
car was running perfectly. There was the happy moment for Rameshbhai.

Happy:

A few months ago, I was going to the collage due to exam and I was actually driving my bike
at very high speed & I was already late. Suddenly I lost my balance and my bike was
knocked by rickshaw. My bike was majorly damaged and suspension was totally bent. I was
so scared and injured, I trolled my vehicles my uncles’ garage I explained my problem to the
Jagdishbhai. They started working bike suspension. They setup my bike suspension in 15
min. I successfully reached my collage at right time.

Sad:

Maheshbhai was driving his car on NH at very high speed. As soon as his car was totally
stoped and its engine was burned out from his car’s bonate So that he come out from the car
and so that car was totally filed with smoked and there was no garage near the spot so he
called the helpline number his car to garage after 2 hr. he reached the garage and explained
his problem to the worker. The worker told Maheshbhai that his car was totally damaged so
that time Maheshbhai was so SAD.

Sad:

Manishbhai was driving his car on express highway on very high speed. Suddenly his car was
accident with heavy truck. Car was totally damaged so he give the car to the garage. In
garage car was totally damaged so garage worker told him car will not perfectly repaired. Car
was totally scrapped. Then he went to other garage the garage worker told him if you came
our garage first it would perfectly repaired. After hearing this Manishbhai felt sad because
worker’s mistake.
CHAPTER 3. IDEATION CANVASS

3.1 Explanation of People And Their Activities

There are so many users working at the Garage. He is the one who handle the garage daily
and knows about the problem in his vehicle. Another user is the workshop manager, who test
the vehicle after being repaired. The mechanic drives car again and again while repairing the
car. The supervisor checks the car that it is properly serviced or not.

CHAPTER 6. PROTOTYPE DESIGN

6.1 BASIC DESIGN & CALCULATION

 In case of prototype design we haven’t used any complex calculation.

 our prototype is simple and all that is required is some basic calculations
and some of the common hunch that we took from the practical working
of the product.
 We calculated weight to pressure ratio fort understanding the strength of
the product under savoir condition.
 And also we calculated the approximate centre of gravity point of our
product.
 Our calculations are not more of a calculation but based on the practical
usage more.
 As seen the c.g. is required to find so that we could check on the
balancing of the product, is the product stable or not.
 And also whether the product can bear the extensive forces or not.
