PERCEPTION OF ANHS STUDENTS TOWARDS SSG ADMINISTRATION FOR THE S.Y.
2018-2019
I. Background of the Study.

In the educational campus, good governance is being realized by having a Supreme

Student Government which is participatory, accountable, consensual, predictable, effective, and
efficient, and transparent among others. It is within an institution to engage in paradigm shifts in
order to improve campus student governance. Youth transitions should be critically investigated in
the context of changes. There ought to be conscious re-discovery and re-construction of the
measures and categories of youth transitions that would reveal both structural and institutional
barriers that hinder the process of growing up.
It has been said that Supreme Student Government has become a monopoly of student
leaders. There was not a good venue where ordinary students could air their ideas, which made
them lose their social and political interests as manifested in their lack of participation to student
activities.
In dealing with this, the SSG instituted a collaborative technique where representatives of
formation s could discuss issues and come out with solutions.
Here in ANHS the SSG O Administration for the School Year 2018-2019 had brought a big
impact in our School in almost four months of their service. They level up and change the
impressions of the students towards their administration. They proved that they are deserving the
position to serve as a leader in our institution.
It is in this aspect that the present study will be conducted in order for us to know the
perception of ANHS students to the administration of the Supreme Student Government for the
S.Y. 2018-2019.

barriers that hinder the process of growing up
. It has been said that Supreme Student Government has become a monopoly of student
activities. In dealing with this, the SSG
instituted a collaborative technique where representatives of formation s could discuss issues and
come out with solutions. Shortly after the Oath taking of SSG
Officers last April 03, 2018 they first held their responsibilities last May 28 to June 01, 2018 on
Brigada Eskuwela as preparation for the opening of the classes. As an SSG O and as a head of
the student body they are the first to lead any activities. SSG Officers also as a minor offices of the
institution serve as a leader in doing good actions for the betterment of our schools, they also
serve as a take charge to facilitate and maintain peaceful during the School Activities and if there
is an emergency meeting of the teachers.
Some of the students of Abangay National High School were very impress to the sudden
changes that they were see on this Year under the administration of the Supreme Student
Government. It is in this aspect that the present study will be conducted for us to know the
perception of ANHS students on SSG Administration for the School Year 2018-2019.

It has finally been decided that I am involve as an SSG representative as from now I notice
that being SSG is not easy to tell you frankly I cannot handle my time. Here in Abangay National
High School all SSG Officer are always busy in helping the activities held here in ANHS like
incoming Teachers Day Celebration and iLead training but despite of being tired I am happy that I
am the one called them as SSG officer and to become a role model of the School.
It is in this aspect that the present study will be conducted to proof them that being SSG
Officer is not easy, and also to know what is the work of SSG O here in Abangay National High
School and the contribution of SSG to the improvements of School.

SSG Administration is very known of being assistant disciplinary in the campus of Abangay
National High School they are also known of being the responsible students chosen by their co-
students for taking responsibilities in handling minor problems and reported the students who
violated the rules of the School.
It is in this aspect that the present study will be conducted in order for us to know what is
the important of having an SSG Officers if we are all same students in Abangay National High
School.

because they are the first who follow the rules.

II. Objective of the Study.
This study aims to find out perception of ANHS Student toward SSG Administration for the
School Year 2018-2019.
Specifically this study aims to answer the following question.
1. What are the characteristics of SSG O?
2. What are the contributions of SSG O in ANHS?
3.What are the things to be consider to be a good leader?
1.Are the SSG Officers worth to be called a leader?

2. Does SSG Officers act their role correctly?
1. What is the role of SSG Officer ?
2. What are the problem of SSG Officer from the student ?

III. Significance of the Study.
The findings of the study will be beneficial to the students, teachers, principal, parents,
future leaders, and the future researchers.
Students- the findings will help the students to be aware an what is the role of Supreme Student
Government on our school.
Teachers- the result of the study will serve as a gateway to have a better understanding of SSG
administration, goals and propaganda on our school.
Parents- findings may serve as an eye opener to give a better understanding toward SSG Officers
on what is their responsibilities.
Future leaders- findings may serve as a great impact to the future leaders to make an adjustment
and be inspire and motivate to do a great change an ANHS.
Principal- the result of the study will serve as an eye opener to our principal to better understand
the great contribution of SSG Officers to our school for this school year 2018-2019.

Teacher-serves as adviser to improve their knowledge in terms of leadership. Also the one who
motivated his/her students.
Students- findings may serve as the main character of this research, students must undergo
orientation to guide them.
Principal- findings may serve as an eye opener to the principal knowing the effect of having SSG
officers in ANHS.
Parents/Guardians- serves as the financer and need to b supportive.
Stakeholders- the result of the study could help the stakeholders to make a plan of action and
strategies on how to make students perception of ANHS students will be positive and effective.

IV. SCOPE AND DELIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY.
This study will focus on the Perception of ANHS students toward SSG Administration for the

method will be used as the research design. The respondents will be given questionnaires for
them to answer.
The validity of the instrument will be determined by the expert, and the questionnaires will be
check by the expert.

Data Analysis
The study showed that, the perception of Abangay National High School students toward SSG
Administration for the School Year 2018-2019 is Excellent in: Serving the Abangay National High
School, facilitating the school’s program like Teacher’s Day Celebration, in their Social
Responsibility project like centavo collection, performing their roles as student leaders, and
disseminating information to their teachers and fellow students as shown in Figure 1. Therefore,
the Supreme Student Government Administration should maintain their good governance and
continue to strive for the success of the student body.

The study showed that 8.33%of the ANHS students perceived SSG Administration as excellent
in serving the Abangay National High School year 2018-2019.They showed to have good
governance. This implied that students are satisfied to the performance of SSG Organization to
serve their fellow students and the School.
Good facilitators of School’s activities
The finding of the study showed that 7.90% of the students sees SSG Administration as Excellent in
facilitating the during the School’s program like Teacher’s Day celebration. This implied that SSG
Administration have power and ability to control and motivate their fellow students to help and bring a
positive outcome during the School’s activities.
SSGO Social Responsibility Project (centavo collection)
Despite of pressure and challenge both to the part of the student and to the implementer with this
social responsibility project still Abangay National High School students ranked this as third in Excellence.
With an average of 7.47%. This only implies that ANHS students observe that social responsibility project of
the SSGO is efficacious to our schools, community, and to our environment. For the main purpose of this
SRP is to encourage students to become active members of the institution. And to promote healthy habits
to save our environment and community in worsening situation.
Performing the roles as student leaders
Despite of the negativity and bad feedbacks that they have received and heard, Abangay National
High School Students ranked this as fourth of the excellent with 7.05%, ANHS students believed that SSG
officers acted and performed their role correctly and effectively as Student Leaders.
Disseminating Information to Teachers and Students
With an average of 7.05 , this was ranked as fifth as the Excellence performance of the SSG
Administration. It just only implies that SSG Organization is circulating and spreading an information in
formal manner.
Conclusion:
SSG Administration for the School year 2018-2019 is quite amazing, for many students
perceived their performances as Excellent. Abangay National High School student looked their
administration as effective and transparent, transparent especially that their fellow students seen,
their willingness to serve Abangay National High School. They perceived Supreme Student
Government Organization as responsible, very inclined to serve the Abangay National High
School community especially to the student body. They showed be good role model even in just
simple way, they are much willing to implement the school rules and to be an instrument to
improve the worsening condition of the student body to become an active citizen of our society, of
our community. Abangay National High School students perceived SSG administration in holistic
perspective as EXCELLENT.
Recommendation
The Researcher recommends that the next SSG Administration should do their best in
serving their school. For a student body needs a leader that has willingness to serve without
thinking any return. Abangay National High School needs a leader whom a leader not just by
name but a leader in action, for now a days many are just aiming for position to be popular and
fame, they run for position to be known without thinking the real reason why they run. Abangay
National High School needs leaders who will oath to make change and be an inspiration to
become a responsible and optimistic student leader, because how good is your governance there
were still someone who will put you down and under estimate your capacity. Next, ANHS Student
leader should know how to handle the challenges that they may face on their journey, and on their
plight as future leader in making Abangay National High School to be on top, ANHS community
needs a leader who will continue to climb the ladder of success despite of hindrances that they
may face in making it.
