Week 4 :

My challenge when reading this text was that. I had to read slowly to try and understand
some sentences with a new vocabulary used by the author. I also have to understand the
character of this short story. I also have to understand the language of the author in this plot,
and i am confused by the conflict and the theme of this story , and also i must understand the
opinions of the listerners of this story.

The opportunities for me from this story ‘ There was once ‘ by Margareth atwood is learn and
understand stories with critical analysis in my opinion, with two different characters but have
the same theme and conflict. Because after i read and understood i knew that these themes
and conflicts together showed the tension of the two characters . I also understand more after
i read further this story , the writer is more focused on describing stories that convey moral
message , while listeners try to reflect the state of society in modern times , i also understand
that conflict still exists as a continued dialogue , and reach a high point in this story . I also
came to understand that the writer tried to fight back , but there was no meaning at the end of
the story . After read this story i understand more about the characters in this story , and i also
know that in this story the writer gives an anonymous character with very little description ,
and also in this story i can understand that there is tension between one person and another . I
also another better understand the language used by the author is very simple , and coflicting
for these characters . And what i understand in this story there are no settings provided by the
author
Week 2 :

The challenge in this story in this story i was required to understand and arrange the
order of events in this story from beginning to end . I also need to know the setting of
the story and the main problem from this story . I also had not study and understand
the conflict between the emperor and the hermit , emepror’s conflict with his former
enemy . there is this story i also have to determine the climax characteristics of the
type of plot and also the setting of the time and atmosphere and i must be able to
understand the feelings in this story

After i read this story i had the opportunity to analyze . I can also learn to plan and i
also understand about exposition when uncertainty or conflict is the beginning
towards further conflict . from this story i also know that there are two kinds of
conflict , internal conflict and external conflict . I also got an opportunity from
external conflict analysis what i get in this story “ Three Question “ by Leo Tolstoy is
‘ Character Vs Character ‘ , For the example The Emperor’s conflict between several,
emperor’s between ascetics , the emperor’s conflict between his former enemies .
From this story i also learned to develop conflict . I can also determine the turning
point or climax , i also can easily understand the contents of the story . After reading
this story carefully , it can help me to find the types of plots , namely , progressive
plot , chronological plot , flashback plot . And in this story the type of plot used is a
chronological plots . I can also find out how the writer describes the characters
personality , that is by the three ‘ Analytical ’ ways of ‘ drama’ and ‘mix’ . And what
i read and understood from this story , the author uses dramatic analysis . There is this
story that i can get about setting is to understand the circumstances surrounding the
characters in the story . There are three kinds of settiings that i have learned from this
reading , which are time , place and atmosphere . And what i understand from the
story is the feeling of confusion , panic , dissapointment , anxiety , fatigue , quiet , and
calm that is described in this story .
Week 3 :

The challenge that i get in this story is that i have to understand the contents of this
story which in my opinion is difficult to analyze and i have to try repeatedl to read the
story to better understand the storyline and type of story . I found a lot of new
sentences and vocabulary that made me a slowly in digesting the stories , i also have
to try to retell it according to practical understanding so that it can be understood . I
must understand and analyze the nature of the characters in the story

Week 5 :

In this challenge which i find a little confussing , because i think that although this a
children’s story , it is related to philosophical and emotional differences that are
diffrent from the children’s understanding . and this became a challenge for me
because i was required ro analyze this story , i must be able to arrange the form of
presentation of this story which is full of meaning , and i have to pay closer attention
to this story so that i don’t get confused . i am required to read slowly and carefully . I
have to be able to implication between stories from real life with fictional elements .
But there are also challenges for me , where i have to be able to distinguish between
meaning and style of language that is profound and too philosophical which makes
the story difficult to understand by the children . From the text after i read , i have to
separate between figurative words and some philosophycal words . i also need to be
able to determine the atmosphere and the circumstances from the short story .

The opportunities After i read this text of ‘ The Nightingale And The Rose’ by Oscar
Wilde , i got a chance to analyze the type of story . Also i can understand that this
story just a fiction , but what i learned from the text of this story , the philophical and
emotional problems that exist in this story are not in accordance with children’s
understanding . I also feel satisfied because in this story i can further develop my
analytical skills in a story . I also understand briefly about the meaning of this story ,
and i can also explain briefly about the meaning of this story using sentences that are
more understood by children’s . After i read this text indirectly i was easy to
understand figurative sentences or philosophies that were difficult for children
understand . I have the opportunity to distinguish the writings of writers regarding
several elements such as life or emotional levels of metabolicism and idealism
symbols that are beyond the comprehension of children with adult thought patterns

Week 6 :

The challenge i got when reading this story about ‘cat in the rain‘ by Ernest Hemingway was
that i had to learn about the narrator’s point of view and try to understand the flow of the
story that the writer made. I have to be able to understand the author’s style and what happens
with the tittle. I must find out the ens of this story and i must try to analyze the plot and place
the settings correctly.

The oppourtunities for me After i read the text of this story, i felt interested and wanted to
analyze . In this story i can think that the narrative perspective of this story is a third person
and i can also understand that basic sentences and statements see very factual. I also
understand more about the flow of the story besides that i also understand the writing style of
a hemingway who is a journalist. Hemingway writes about fiction. I also got a chance from
this story because the writer uses fairly simple language . after reading i can also understand
this story because it is quite typical for this type of short story . I had the oppurtunity to try to
analyze the plot which is about the situation of couples with a lack of sexual tension between
couples who are very stressful
