Project Abstract:

Nowadays, there are online car reservation which give much benefit to user. A rental service is a
service in which customer arrive to request the hire of a rental unit. It is more convenient than carrying
the cost of owning and maintaining the unit. A car rental company is company that rents car for short
period of time for a fee whether in a few hours or a few days or week.

Our Aim is to design and create a data management System for a car rental company. This enables
admin can rent a vehicle that can be used by a customer. By paying the money during a Specified
Period of time. This system increases customer retention and simplify vehicle and staff Management in
an efficient way. This software car Rental System has a very user friendly interface. Thus the users will
feel very easy to work on it. By using this system admin can manage their rental, payment,
employment issues and vehicle issues such as and insurance. The car information can be added to the
system. Or existed car information can be edited or deleted too by Administrator. The transaction
reports of the car rental system can be retrieved by the admin, when its required .Thus, there is no delay
in the availability of any car information, whenever needed, car information can be Captured very
quickly and easily.
Introduction:

This Project is about creating a Car Renting Management System for a car renting business. This system
will be a web based application and consist of two parts.

 The first part of the system will provide with a portal where customers can log in to the system
and search for desired vehicle and reserve them for renting.
 The second part of the system will allow the Administrator to update details about new vehicles,
payment details and other details easily.

The system will collect renting details from the customer and provide them the basic cost of the
transaction and confirmation of the request. Administrator can update and renew details about
vehicles and payments etc. The system will provide an updated view. The system will create reports
of total reservation in a time period, Number of times a vehicle reserved and details about reservation
of each vehicle

Motivation and Scope:

"The scope of a system defines the boundaries of the system to be built". In other words, the
assumptions used and the different features to be considered before building up the system have to be
pre-defined in order to have a system of quality For this car rental software, the assumptions made are as
follows:

This system is for use by only one company which will be maintained by the staff.

 The customers will be charged according to terms and conditions specified.

The different features of a car rental system to be included will be:

 Managing details of Vehicles.

 Managing Staff details.
 Managing Customer Details.
 Producing daily, weekly and monthly reports.
 Booking of Vehicles.

Goals and Objectives:

General Objective:

The general objective of this project is to develop interactive web based system for the HR car
rent organization.

Specific Objective:
Here are some specific objectives that would together help us achieve the overall the project as
follows:

 To transform the manual process of hiring car to a computerized system.

 To validate the Rental Car System using satisfaction test.
 To enhance searching speed for all information such as client and rental.
 To provide report generation and analyses the rental of car to give better decision making.
