Another obstacle is that males also have to defend its region from
separate male rivals during the breeding season and has to become solitary
and combative like Scar from lion king who strived to become king. For
example, as we draw near in our jeep, one of the males jumps on our car
scraping the glass and starts pecking the bodywork probably to defend the
territory not caring about the cracking sound of the glass which was
abnormal. Who may be very rapaciousness about wanting this animal
only? Last but not least is that predators hunt down the males due to their
bright feathers and the predator being hungry. You may be thinking the
predator will catch the male since he has a long train. But no, in some cases
the predator will pull out all the train feathers from the male allowing it to fly
away. But the male will not be able to breed.
It is the last day of our observations the morning sun is beating down
on our backs making up a sweat as if we were human raindrops. The fresh
morning air clearing up our senses from being in a tent. We have now
observed that they have broken up into small troops to find food. We watch
as their swift bodies moved about the ground like a colorful wave. They
forage about the ground to find grain, insects, seeds, and flower parts. But
midday they stopped to rest in the shade while drinking water. They preen
their feathers nice and neatly to their perfect position. Once the weather cools
down they once again forage for food, soon they take their midnight drink
and retreat to their roost, for good night slumber in a tree. I am a Peafowl
