b. describe the functions of each part of the excretory system,
c. name the common diseases of the urinary system, and
d. practice ways of caring for the excretory system.

II. SUBJECT MATTER

Topic: Parts and Functions of the Excretory System
References: The Amazing World of Science 6 pg. 125 - 131
Materials: laptop, projector, images, 4 disposable cup, 2 white
handkerchief, 2 spoon, soil, water, activity sheets

III. PROCEDURE
A. ENGAGE
1. Review
a. What was our last topic?
b. What are the some missing parts of circulatory system?
(power point presentation)
2. Motivation
This time I show them this picture of a city infested with trash.
(power point presentation)

B. EXPLORE
Group Activity:
Mechanics: Divide the class into two groups.
Materials: 4 disposable cup, 2 white handkerchief, 2 spoon,
soil, water

2. What are the four body gets rid of these wastes in different ways?
explain.
a. Getting rid of wastes through the urinary system.
b. Getting rid of wastes through the skin.
c. Getting rid of carbon dioxide through the lungs.
d. Getting rid of wastes through the large intestine.
D. ELABORATE
Group Activity: ‘THINK AND DO’
Mechanics: The pupil will group into 5 groups and each group act their
assign topic. Present it in the class.
Group 1 - pain in back, belly and side of your stomach
Group 2 - snack time (eating junk foods and drinking soft drinks)
Group 3 - having fatigue, weight loss, muscle cramps
Group 4 - having a balanced diet and drinking plenty of water
Group 5 - exercising regularly and not holding back the need to urinate
Afterwards, the teacher discuss what is the purpose of they presented
