This chapter consists of presentation, analysis and interpretation of data gathered from the
questionnaires regarding on the Students’ Entrepreneurial Skills and Perception towards Business
Enterprising.
Demographic Profile
The profile variables of grade 12 ABM students considered by the researchers of this study
are the following: age, sex, and family monthly income. The distribution of grade 12 ABM students
Age. Most (77.4%) of the grade 12 ABM students were age 16-17 years old. Some (16.1%)
were 18-19 years old while the 6.5% were age 20-21 years old. It can be implied that Grade 12
ABM students of Jose Diva Avelino Jr. National High School are predominantly 16-17 years of
age.
Sex. Most (75% ) of the grade 12 ABM students were female. Some (25%) were male.
Family Monthly Income. The data revealed that most (64.5%) of the family monthly
income of the respondents is below Php 10,000. Some (32.3%) is Php 10,000 to 20,000 and 3.2%
Entrepreneurial Skills
The results about the entrepreneurial skills of the ABM students of Jose Diva Avelino Jr.
National High School according to the Part II of the research questionnaire that have been
distributed to the grade 12 ABM students shows the general average means of 3.3161 which have
a verbal interpretation of moderately acquired which means that the students sometimes practice
the skills. The highest weighted mean in terms of the entrepreneurial skills of the ABM students
is 3.61 which has a verbal interpretation of acquired while the lowest weighted mean is 3.13 which

National High School according to the Part III of the research questionnaire that have been
distributed to the grade 12 ABM students shows the general average means of 4.0194 that have a
verbal interpretation of agree which means that the students oftentimes perceived positive
perception towards business enterprising. The highest weighted mean in terms of the perception
of the students towards business enterprising of the ABM students is 4.29 which has a verbal
interpretation of strongly agree while the lowest weighted mean is 3.71 which has a verbal
AGE
In the table shown above, the 24 students who age 16-17 years old has a mean rank of
15.40, while the 5 students who age 18-19 years old has a mean rank of 22.50 and the 2 students
who age 20-21 years old has a mean rank of 7.00. The sig. (2-tailed) value shown above is 0.098
which is higher than 0.05, thus, the researchers of this study can conclude that there is no
significant difference between the age of the participants and their entrepreneurial skills. This
indicates that the age of the respondents of this study does not affect their entrepreneurial skills.
SEX
The 31 grade 12 ABM students are composed of 24 females and 7 males. The mean rank
for the female is 18.21 and the mean rank for the male is 15.35. The sig. (2-tailed) value for sex is
0.463 which is higher than 0.05. This implies that the sex of the participants does not affect their
entrepreneurial skills.
The mean rank of the family monthly income for Php 10,000 below is 16.25, Php 10,000-
20,000 is 14.50, Php20,000 and above is 26.00. The sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.471 shows that there
is no significant difference on the family monthly income of the students to their entrepreneurial
The result of this study shows that there is a significant relationship between the
entrepreneurial skills of the grade 12 ABM students and their perceptions towards business
enterprising as the correlation is 0.032 which is lower than 0.05 level (2-tailed). This implies that

the perception towards business enterprise of the Grade 12 ABM students in Jose Diva Avelino Jr.
National High School year level 2019-2020. Specifically, the study sought to answer the following
questions:
1. What demographic profile could be drawn from the respondents in terms of?

b. Sex
3. What is the level of perceptions of the students towards business enterprising in the ABM
strand?
5. Is there a significant relationship between the entrepreneurial skills of the students and

The adopted and modified survey questionnaire was the data gathering tool utilized. The
data gathered from the study were computer-processed using the Statistical Package for the Social
Sciences (SPSS) software. The descriptive statistics utilized was the mean. Mann-Whitney test
and Kruskal-Wallis was used to test the significant differences on the entrepreneurial skills of the
students when grouped according to their demographic profile. Spearman’s Rho test was used to
test the relationship between the entrepreneurial skills of the students and their perception towards
business enterprise.
Findings
1. The respondents consisted of (7) males and (24) females, aged 16-21 years old.
