 COLLEGE WEBSITE DEVELOPMENT

PROJECT REPORT

INTRODUCTION

A website is a collection of Web pages, images, videos and other digital assets that is
hosted on one or several Web server, usually accessible via the Internet, Mobile phone or a
LAN.

The pages of websites can usually be accessed from a common root URL called the
homepage, and usually reside on the same physical server. The URLs of the pages organize
them into a hierarchy, although the hyperlinks between them control how the reader
perceives the overall structure and how the traffic flows between the different parts of the
sites.

 The college website has been developed using ASP.Net as the Front End and SQL
Server as the Back End. It follows the three tier architecture with C# for coding and
ADO.Net providing the classes for database connectivity.
A website requires attractive design and proper arrangement of links and images,
which enables a browser to easily interpret and access the properties of the site. Hence it
provides the browser with adequate information and functionality about the organization,
community, network etc.

The website has been developed for our college in an effort to make it as attractive
and dynamic as possible. Compared to the existing site a database has been added to our
project.

The working of the project is as follows.

The first page provides several links. The Home page contains several information
about the site like campus, management, facilities, infrastructure etc.

User Login module helps the user to login to the site. For that he must type the
username and password correctly. The login provision in this page helps the already
registered user to directly access the site and there is a link for registration to a user who is
new to this site.

Member Registration module helps the new user to register into the site. The
information entered by the users is added into the table registration.
In the Login link a recruiter can login using the appropriate Username and
password, through which he can submit the required criteria for a student to appear for a
placement drive. He can also post the number of vacancies that are available and the salary
packages offered.

The flash news and the events corner display the latest developments,
announcements and events associated with the college activities.

 The administrator has the responsibility for displaying the recruiters form on the
notice board, in response to which student can submit his willingness to attend the drive
along with his resume.

PROBLEM WITH CURRENT PROJECT

There are some problems which come in front when a person searches any college website
then these problems are solved in my project. Problem such as absence of mid-sum marks,
their personal details (their residential addresses)

OBJECT
The objective of project is to developing a automated system, which will cover all the
information Related to the results. For example – result of primary, secondary, senior
secondary etc.
When any person want to collect the information about any individual of that institutes
then he may get information with in a few second.
It may have solutions of various problem which comes in front in other college
website(unavailability of assignment solutions and notes) .
At last the main purpose of this project is to modify ,add store data of each and every
individual.

WORK DONE

We assigned a work on the PHP technology and by support of this technology we had
prepared a website named College Website. College Website is a website through which
any person can see it.

 We have given various options to this site so that it may be beneficial and easy to the
user to access the site. First of all, student has to register it and get username and
password. Only users who are authorized register can access their results. We had given
upload facility so that it provides benefits to organization for uploading the Events. Events
will be uploaded through the administrator according to type(student requirement)
demand.
There is also a option for feedback. Users can create query as per their
requirement. For these they have to give some information like email id through which we
can contact them and give quick response

SYSTEM DESIGN
System design involves transformation of the user implementation model into software
design. The design specification of the proposed system consists of the following:

DATABASE SCHEME
Structure charts
Pseudo codes for the modules in structure charts

IMPLEMENTATION
This activity includes programming, testing and integration of modules into a progressively
more complete system.

TEST GENERATION
This activity generates a set of test data, which can be used to test the new system before
accepting it.

CONCLUSION
The computer program “College Web Site” has been designed basically for the students
and Our institutions.

By entering the required data one can easily generate the information about any field as
well as other services provided through the system. As provided in the introduction we can

do many required works on it but it is not based on a particular online system as common
idea is taken into consideration while preparing this project so to implement, it may
require some modifications as per the requirements. “College Web Site” is a good
approach to easy search by just sitting at home.

FUTURE SCOPE
This project that is based on the college web site has an tremendous scope in future . This
project is used in future because any one can add ,retrieve, delete or modify the data about
any person related to that college.

Any one can get knowledge or contact about that college in future or take admission.
