Goal: Get to know each student’s name within the first 3 days.

Rational: By getting to know each student’s name I will be able to build a connection with the
students. By building a connection with the students they will be more willing to listen while
teaching. They will also feel comfortable asking questions when they need help.
Strategies:
 I will ask my TA for a class list on day one (preferably with pictures to put a face to a
name).
 Study the class list.
 Try to have 5 new names learned by each recess each day.
Indicators of Success:
 I will know each student by name in 3 days.
Reflection:

Goal: Build a relationship with my TA.


Rational: By building a relationship with my TA I will be able to learn from them. I will also
feel comfortable asking my TA questions. I will also feel comfortable asking for improvements.
Strategies:
 Get to know my TA by name.
 Ask my TA questions to get to know them.
 Find common interests.
 Share things about myself.
Indicators of Success:
 Feel comfortable around my TA as a mentor.
 Be able to talk openly and freely with my TA.
 Feel comfortable to ask my TA any questions I may have.
Reflection:

Goal: Be able to build a simple yet effective lesson plan.


Rational: By being able to build a simple yet effective lesson plan I will be able to teach
effectively. With it being simple I will be able to easily follow it; therefore, I won’t get lost while
teaching.
Strategies:
 Take what I have learned about building lesson plans and put it to practice
 Find out what format works best for me.
 Keep my lesson plans neat and tidy and not full of information that isn’t needed.
Indicators of Success:
 Being able to follow my lesson plans with ease.
 Have a lesson plan that someone else can easily follow.
Reflection:

Goal: Be able to be flexible with my teaching.


Rational: By being flexible with my teaching I will be more prepared for when something
unexpected happens. I will easily be able to change things around if time is needed to be spent
more on one thing than the other.
Strategies:
 Have back up plans built into my lesson plans for in case something happens.
 Be willing to accept the fact that change will be needed sometimes.
 Accept the fact that no lesson is ever perfect and that no lesson follows a lesson plan
perfectly.
Indicators of Success:
 When faced with something unexpected being able to handle said thing professionally
 Make changes to a lesson when needed.
