We all have learnt or you may learn in your class that our body is made of cells.
Cells help our body to grow. There are millions of cells in our body. Function of these cells is to divide into 2, 4 & 8 and
disappear.
These cells are so tiny that you can’t see them without using microscope. Each cells lives for ¾ months.
When the cells stop dividing it gets accumulated and forms into Tumor or Lumps.
There are two types of Tumors
A tumor is an abnormal lump or growth of cells. When the cells in the tumor are normal, it is benign. Something just
went wrong, and they overgrew and produced a lump. When the cells are abnormal and can grow uncontrollably, they
are cancerous cells, and the tumor is malignant.

Cancer develops when there are changes to the DNA (mutations) within a cell that allows it to grow out of control.
● Radiation Exposure - The most common form of radiation exposure is from the sun.
● Infections - Some viral infections directly affect the DNA to produce cancerous changes
● Family History - in 5% to 10% of cases, cancer is due to a family cancer syndrome that can be inherited
Symptoms of cancer can help each one of us to have the best chance for early detection and effective treatment.
Unexplained weight Loss - Losing 5% of your body weight over a six- to 12-month period without trying to loose
weight.
Stage 1 & 2 is curable depending on the body part in which the cancer is affected.
Stage 3 - 40% of survival is estimated.
Stage 4 – Doctors ask family members to pray and believe for miracle from GOD.
