Assalamualaikum Wr.Wb alhamdulillahirobbil’alamin gratitude we pray that

the presence of Allah SWT has given grace and guidance to us all,so that I can
finish this paper”WRITING 1”of Narative text.and thanks to my friend who have
given us the spirit and ancouragement so that this paper can be resolved.

Hopefully this paper can be useful to readers in general and I beg criticism
and suggestions for better progress.

 CHAPTER I

INTRODUCTION

A. The Background of the Analysis

In English there are many different types of the text,narrative

text,descriptive,report,etc.and one of the text which I discuss in this paper is a
narrative text.

What is the narrative text?narrative text is a text text which contains about
fantasy,fairy tales,or a true story that has been exaggerated.there is usually a moral
to be learned at the end of the story.Example of narrative text can be folk
tales,animal stories,legends,myths,short stories,comic,cartoon,and others.

B. Purpose
1. To know the definition of narrative text.
2. To know the structure narrative text.
3. To know the characteristics of narrative text.

DISCUSSION

A Defenition of narrative text

Narrative is fictional story that aims to entertain the reader.of
course the name of the imaginary story that yes not necessarily
because it could be an imagination or a fictional story made by
someone or a story made by grup of people who not proved true.
Narrative text can also be called a story with complication or
problematic events and it tries to find the resolution to solve the
problems.
B Purpuse of narrative text
The basic purpose of the narrative text is to entertain and appeal
to the reader by presenting a story or event that has a conflicting
problem and at the end of the story there is a happy or event miserable
resolution or rending.in fact narrative texts are not limited to stories of
mystical,fiction,legend,fairy tales or fables,but other stories that affect
adventure,mystery and all forms of story.in essence,the narrative text
is about the story.but in school lessons,narrative text usually used only
to show fictional stories like fairy tales or legends.
C Generic structure of narrative text
1 Orientation:it is about the opening paragraph where the
characters of the story are introduced.
2 Complication:where the problems in the stoy developed
3 Resolution:where the problems in the story is solved
4 Reorientation:closing phrares that indicate the ending of the
story
5 Coda:changes that occur in the characters and lessons/moral
values that can be learned from the story
D Generic Features
In general narrative text has the following linguistic elements:
1. Past tense;narrative text use the word past tense(verb2)
For example;went,ate,met,etc
2. Time conjungtion;use the past time
For example;once upon a time,one day,etc.
3. Time connective;is a conjuction of time to sort events
For example;after,before,after that,etc
4. Action verbs;verbs that shows events or activities
For example;stayed,climbed,wrote,etc
5. Noun;in general nouns are used as pronouns for
people,animals,objects and stories.
For example;stepmother,the dwarfs,carriage,etc
6. Saying and thinking verbs;verb that shows reporting or utterance
For example;said,told,thought,etc.
E Example of narrative text

Orientation
One day there was a fisherman fishing in the sea.the fisherman
was fishing alone on his small old boat.

Complication

That day was not a good day to fish.the fisherman got none of
fish even he had been fishing for several hourse.

The fisherman could not stay longer for fishing if there was no fish
eating his bite.

He was bored and hungry.but he thought that he had no fish then he

would have no money for his family.he was confused and sad,he
prayed to the god for his lucky.he decided to fish for more few
minutes and if he got none then he would back home soon but if he
got one then he would continue to fish.

After praying, the fisherman changed his bait and fish one more
again.not too long after threw his hook,a fish bite his bait.finally,he
got one,after that he was so lucky he got more and more fish easily.his
boat was almost full of fish and he could go home and sell the fish.

On the way back,he saw something at the sea surface.it was like a
buoy moved round and round.the fisherman moved his boat closer to
it to see cleary.it was like what he thought,that thing is a net with the
buoy at the net.but whose net was that?

There was no boat except that fisherman at that area.it meant that the
net was a missing net.the fisherman took that net to see what kind of
fish which made the buoy wobbling.it was a dolphin trapped at that
net.

What a pity dolphin,it was a beautiful dolphin with white colour and
was rere kind of dolphin at that sea.
 The fisherman took it free.the dolpin looked happy after that.it swam
around the fisherman and jumped three times before it finally leaved
him.

Resolution

A month after that,the fisherman met that white dolphin at the

different situation.it was a cloidy day and the fisherman was stiil in
the middle of the sea.

The storm would come soon and the fisherman in a hurry prepared to
back home,but it was too late before the fisherman closed to the beach
the storm was coming.the wave was so high and he could not stand any
longer.at that moment the white dolphin came and saved the
fisherman.the storm was over and the fisherman was already at the
beach.

He did not remember how he was there but what he can remember was
that the dolphin had saved him.he looked at the middle of the sea and he
saw the white dolphin jumped several times.
