Hon’ble________, ____________, Respected Teachers and My Dear Students –

Warm Greetings to all of you!

Today, more than ever, has always been a defining moment for us young people.
The older generations labeled us reckless, pathetic, lazy, even "godless" for
breaking stereotypes and experimenting something out of taste. We have been the
most delectable food on the table being served for ruthless criticisms and unfair
judgments. We too are classified as wandering animals, having no direction to
purposefully go and no manners to proudly show. This is the status quo, the
heartsick reality. But the questions continue to challenge us, "Are we really like
that? Is this the kind of image we show that gives a lasting branding? When should
we stop this so called 'millennial stigma' that only flaunts our mishaps and
shortcomings? I believe that, as a young professional, we the youth have so much
to show, so much to feel proud about if we possessed leadership in us -- I mean
transformational leadership. I always define leadership in three: 1. It is about
responsibility; 2. Moving people to achieve common goals; and 3. Gaining learning
and relationships. It is about responsibility. If you are an elected leader, you are
held responsible of your constituents, your followers by giving them the best
service they deserve. But, in broader sense, leadership knows no position. One can
still dispense responsibilities without having a position. For instance, you, as a
student, are responsible to study harder. You, as a member of the society, are
responsible to obey traffic rules, promote peace and order, get involved in civic
activities, and others. It is about moving people to achieve common goals. Being a
leader is being able to inspire a vision, to impact lives and to touch hearts. More so,
it is being able to shed light those who are lost, to accept and recognize those who
are afflicted and deprived, and to nurture those untiring souls who strive to make
their communities a better place. Lastly, it is about gaining learning and
relationships. Being a leader is being able to learn from life. They said that the only
constant thing in this world is change. But I personally say, it's change and
learning. Change could mean nothing, if we have not learned at all. Our wisdom is a
stronghold that keeps us standing and going. One of the best things in leadership is
gaining relationships. If you keep your values with you without bending and
favoring, the bigger and wider circle of influence you get. Good relationships are
always anchored on values like respect, honesty, justice and service

Our values are our fundamental beliefs – those principles we consider to be

worthwhile and desirable. The more leadership is encouraged, the more it
flourishes. TO END, LET ME GIVE YOU THIS QUOTE, “Live by choice, not
by chance. Make changes, not excuses. Be motivated, not manipulated. Work to
excel, not compete. Listen to your own inner voice, not the jumbled opinions of
everyone else.” THANK YOU AND GOOD EVENING!
