Justification for 8086 Microprocessor Training Equipment

The study of this type of Microprocessor is for the students to understand how different
Integrated Circuit are implemented in the modern Microprocessors. The 8086 microprocessor training
equipment combined with different IC, with different functions allows the students to understand
how the latest computer works.

Justification for the Internet of Things Trainer

We are now in the 4th Industrial Revolution, may it be Industrial Industry 4.0, Logistics 4.0,
Energy 4.0, understanding the concept of Internet of Things is needed to be developed in the
academe. According to Morgan Stanley-Automation World Industrial Automation Survey, one of the
challenges the industry faces in implementation of IoT is the lack of skilled workers. Marinduque State
College as the lone State College in Marinduque would like to equipped our students with the
knowledge and skills to compete with the global market as well as to developed innovative solutions,
via research.

Our project proposal not only focuses on complying to the CMO Minimum Requirements, but
also chose equipment that aims to up-skill our students not just in concept but also includes designing,
implementation and Operation of their projects. The equipment we requested are the needed
equipment for the students to understand the fundamentals of Internet of Things and and how can
they developed innovative products for the community.

The understanding of digital electronics such as the study of combinational and sequential logic
makes the student understand how they can simplify circuits using logic implementations especially in
computer systems. Followed by the study of Microprocessor which covers the fundamentals of how
different integrated circuit works for a modern computer system to function properly. Understanding
of the microprocessor leads the student to understand its usage in the microcontroller systems which
uses different technology such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi and Field Programmable Gate Arrays. We also
included Digital Signal Processing Trainer not just for the use of Computer Engineering program but
also for the Electronics Engineering. These technology were being used in every aspect of the industry
via Embedded Systems which is found in multiple devices may it be in consumer electronics or
industrial electronics. All these equipment are chosen to comply with the requirements as well as to
equipped the students of the skills they need to understand Internet of Things. In embedded systems
where microcontrollers were commonly used, they are connected with different sensors and
actuators, they are designed to do specific task for a complete system. It’s implementation in an
Internet of Things systems is it enables the students to think outside the box and think of innovative
solutions for the use of the community. Many projects are now implemented with the use of WIFI,
Bluetooth, Zigbee and EnOcean which are the commonly used connection for IoT, having this
communication connected to the embedded systems and computer networks allows the actual
practice of IoT in a project. The equipment we are requesting does just not involve these
interconnection but to also further develop the skills of the students in programming as they will be
trained to develop their own web pages and mobile applications for the whole system to run.
