ACCREDITATION AND ASSIGNMENT

In order to address the lack of accredited Project Engineers to supervise the

implementation of DPWH projects, Department Order No. 41, Series of 2007, is hereby
amended as follows:

3.0 Criteria on Assignment of Project Engineers to DPWH projects

3.1 The head of the implementing office shall assign Project Engineers to
projects within his area of jurisdiction, subject to the following limitations
of assignment.

Classification Limits of Assignment

PE III No limit

PE II Projects being implemented simultaneously do

not exceed Pl00 M in cost

PE I Projects being implemented simultaneously do

not exceed PSO M in cost

3.2 Those with designation as Materials Engineer in an on-going DPWH project

shall not act as Project Engineers.

3.3 Division Chiefs/Assistant Division Chiefs of the Regional Offices and Section
Chiefs of the District Engineering Offices of the Department, whether in a
permanent or OIC capacity, shall not act as Project Engineers.

This Department Order takes effect immediately. However, the limits of assignment
spelled out in Section 3.1 of this Order shall be reviewed in July 2013 to re-assess the
sufficiency of Project Engineers vis-a-vis number of projects being implemented.
