"A simple
garter stitch
shawlette"

This is a simple garter stitch

shawlette that incorporates stripes
and eyelet rows for added interest.
This is a quick knit project because it
used worsted weight yarn and a
larger needle. This project can be knit
up over a weekend. The picot bind off
adds interest to the edge with a little
bit of sass. It can be worked into a
larger shawl by adding more repeats
and stripes.
 Supplies and Guide
Yarn: Stitch Guide
1 Skein each in Dark Gray (C1), and  Soft Pink CO = Cast On
(C2),  Yarn Bee Soft & Sleek, 258 yards, 142 k = knit
grams, 100%  Low Pill Acrylic Light Worsted p = purl
kfb = knit in the front and back loop of the
Needles stitch.
US10.5 –6.5mm (If you knit tightly you might K2tog = knit two stitches together through

Gauge WS = Wrong Side Row
14.5 stitches, 15 garter ridges = 4 inches YO = Yarn Over

YARN MANAGEMENT AND SPECIAL NOTES
Yarn Management
When you work with two colors you will need
to make sure that your yarn doesn’t get
twisted. Work from the center of each ball to
make sure that your yarn stays tidy. When
working with stripes you will need to wrap the
non working color over the strand of the
working yarn at the begining of each right
side row to make sure that there is not any
long tails hanging.
Special Notes
 o   This pattern is worked from the bottom
left hand tip to the right side edge.
o   It is worked flat
o   In section 1; There is a double increase at
the beginning of every RS row and a simple
decrease at the end of every RS row. The WS
rows are worked with no increase or
decrease.
o   In section 2; There is a double increase at
the beginning of every RS row and a simple
decrease at the end of every RS row. The
WS row has a simple increase at the end of
each row.
 Pattern
CO 2 in C1 Change colors to C1 and work 2 rows of
Section 1
Section 1
R1 (RS): kfb, yo, k across to last 2 sts, k2tog Start color chart 2 and work 3 repeats,
R2 (WS): knit across working in the same manner as Section 1.
 
Repeat R1 & 2 until you have 40 stitches, Work 8 rows of C1, working
ending with a completed WS row. in the same manner as Section 1.
 
You will change colors at the beginning of Change colors to C2 and work
each RS row. eyelet rows.
 
Eyelet Rows Knit 2 rows of Section 1.
R1 (RS): kfb, * yo, k2tog, repeat from * across BO as follows with Picot Bind Off
R2 (WS): knit across {cable CO 2 sts, k1, *k1, slip 2 sts back to left
  hand needle, k2tog tbl* work from * to * 6

Work in Section 1 stitch pattern until 70 sts. repeat until all stitches are bound off. (last set

Section 2
In C2. Finishing:
R1 (RS): kfb, yo , k to last sts, k2tog Cut yarn and pull through last st. Weave in all
R2 (WS): knit across to last st, kfb ends and secure.
Repeat R1 & 2, until 90sts, ending with a
completed WS row. This shawl doesn’t need to be block if using
acrylic yarn. If you use a wool yarn you will
need to soak shawl and block.
