I. OBJECTIVES

A. Identify the types of recreational activities within the school and community
resources
B. Explain the importance of worthwhile recreational and alternative activities in
the school and community
C. Classify different recreational activities in the school and community
D. Select the recreational and/or alternative activities of preference

II. SUBJECT MATTER

A. Topic: Recreational Games (Types of Recreational Activities)


B. Materials: dart board and pins, arts and crafts, pictures
C. Reference: Learner’s Material for P.E and Health 9, pp. 174 - 176
Honing your Skills through MAPEH IV, pp. 270-271

III. PROCEDURE

A. Review

Let the class interact on the importance of recreational activities.

B. Priming

Have a brainstorming on some recreational games like the target ducks in


the carnivals and dancing.

C. Development of the Lesson

1. Activity
a.) Discuss the different recreational activities according to classifications
such as:

1. social 3. Physical
2. cultural 4. intellectual

b.) Ask the students to have a group discussion and give examples of
each type.
2. Analysis

Ask: - How do the different recreational activities differ from one


another?

- What are the equipment used in dart games?


- Where should dart be played?
- How should a dart be held for throwing? Why?
- When it is not your turn yet to throw darts, how should you hold
them? Why?

3. Abstraction

Let the students complete the following unfinished statement:

- I learned that ……….

4. Application

Let them choose the type of recreational activity they prefer and be
ready to explain to the class how to engage in it and the benefits to be
derived from it.

Performance of each one will be assessed based on this


performance rubrics.
