College Selector System

The project college selector system is an application where students can find and
enroll for different colleges that they want. This system is developed for students
looking out for admission in best colleges. Also, it will help colleges to get more
students being enrolled into the institute. The system will provide a list of colleges
to students from which they can select their required college. On selecting the
college, the system will ask for a test that student have to take to enroll
themselves for admissions. Students have to take the test and the results are
displayed on the spot to the student. The system also sends the result to
respective colleges for evaluation purposes along with student's details. Hence the
initial procedure of conducting an admission can be automated through this
system. The system filters out the Colleges based on the Students merits where
the student selects the course and gets a list of colleges based on Cutoffs and
other validations. Students ca raise a query based on a particular course from a
particular college and Admin will reply on that.

The features and modules of the project are as follows:

1. Admin
 Login: Admin can login using credentials.
 Manage College: Admin can manage college by adding deleting and
updating.
 Manage Course: Admin can add, update, delete and view courses for each
college.
 View Test results: Admin can list and send email to college
 View Queries: View and reply to the queries raised by students.
 View Feedback: Admin can view feedback.

2. Student
 Register: Student need to register and obtain credentials.
 Login: Student can login using credentials.
  Profile: students can view and update. They can add details about previous
marks and percentage.
 College for Me: The system will only show the colleges those match my
merits.
 Search College: Students will get College list and details; Student have to
give online test if we want to apply for the college.
 Test Results: Student will get the list of test results
 Queries: List of queries I have raised.
 Feedback: Student can send feedback.

This Application uses Android - Java as a front-end and sql as the back-end.

Software Requirements:

 Windows 7(ultimate, enterprise) or above

 Android Studio
 Visual studio 2010

Hardware Components:

 Processor – i3
 Hard Disk – 5 GB
 Memory – 4GB RAM

Advantages:

 The system automates the manual procedure of applying for admission in

colleges.
 No need for students to go to different college for applying for admissions
or enquiry. They can get a brief list of all the colleges at a single place.
  The system acts as a mediator between the student and college.
 It notifies the colleges of students enrolling for admission by emailing them
so that it becomes easier for them to get students details and evaluate.
 By providing test results to colleges the system makes it more convenient
for colleges to select appropriate candidates.
 The system is convenient and flexible to be used.
 It saves their time, efforts, money and resources.

Disadvantages:

 The system does not check for the student's identity as there can be fake
entries.
 There is no human interaction.

Applications:

 The system can be used for universities that have different colleges under it.
 It can also be implemented in school's admission.
