The American University in Cairo (A-U-C) is known for its strong collaborations with
other universities to expose students to liberal arts on an international and local scale. A-
U-C has done that in many ways through study abroad programs, exchange study
programs, partnerships, and even in-class collaborations. Professor Irene Strasser from
the A-U-C, teaches her Lifespan Development psychology course in collaboration with
the American University in Paris, (A-U-P). Professor Strasser stresses on how the liberal

We're trying to achieve for young people to be global citizens in a global world. Being
open to reflect on my own stereotypes I hold and things like that and also some dealing

According to the A-U-C official website, the university holds responsibility to engage far
beyond the process of academia to ensure that people can gain access to the intellectual
sources. One of those resources is the C-L-T. The C-L-T stimulates learning
environments for A-U-C faculty through providing them with support and resources.
Strasser: “First of all, also for our project we really had some wonderful support from
C-L-T in terms of finding because that's a crucial thing. Finding reliable and stable
applications and software in order to do what we wanted to do and they provided a lot of
support which was really wonderful.” (3:46) (0:22)
According to Strasser, this collaboration is planned to be done by next semester as well

In consonance with the A-U-C official website, the university currently has around 170
international partnerships with top universities worldwide. It has also recently signed a
