VERIFICATION

Proper Tagging & Labelling
Ensure the Testing and Commissioning shall be done with

VISUAL INSPECTION
All live parts screened with an insulating plate or earthed

metal.

10 All exposed metal parts effectively earthed.

Insulation Resistance
1. Check for the tightness of all connections and also
clean all the supporting insulators.
11 2. Isolate the cable on incoming and outgoing side.
3. Apply a megger voltage of 1000 Volts DC with
Respective Phases for one (1) minute and record
the values.
 Functional Checks
1. Switch on the main incoming control supply for
the SMDB.
12 2. check the electrical operation of the switchgear
using the schemes.
3. check the operation of the indication devices,
voltmeters, protective devices, etc. mounted in
the panel using the scheme.
Checks Before Energization
1. Busbar chambers, main and sub-main switch
connections i.e. bolt and nuts tightness.
2. Earthing connections at compartments, all
switches and earth electrodes. T&C
13 3. clearance of live parts from direct contact with or
any likelihood of contact with tools, spurious bare
conductors remaining in switches, circuit breakers
and switch cubicles.
4. vacuum cleaning of switches and breakers.
5. provision of danger and warning signs.
