BACKGROUND and RATIONALE:
 The purpose of this lesson is for students to comprehend what adjectives are and how to use them
 Adjectives being descriptive words and important in everyday sentence structure
 In the previous lesson, we discussed the use of past tense verbs. We are discussing grammar in this unit
so our next lesson will be based off connecting sentences and expanding the knowledge of what we
have learned thus far
 In the next lesson we will first review what we already know and begin sentence structure
 We will need to have backup activities for students who may not comprehend as easily as other
students. And also students who have specific IEPS
PROCEDURES AND TIMELINE:
● Introduction:
○ Before every lesson students shake out their jitters and stretch before sitting down
and focusing on the lesson at hand. Once students have all been seated, I will ask students if they
have read the book Goldilocks and the Three Bears. I will ask for students to remain silent while
we read the book together for students who have not read the book before.

ASSESSMENT EVIDENCE:

● For the formative assessment students will present their pictures from the closure activity to the class.
This will be the exit ticket to make sure students are grasping the concept of adjectives

MODIFICATIONS:

● I will provide an adjective chart with a list of adjectives listed. This will benefit students who have
trouble with language or struggle with organizing their thoughts.

For students who are ready for enrichment activities, instead of creating a regular booklet, these students will
create a digital booklet
