The materials to be used during the conduct of this study are peanut shell, wire
mesh, sand, Portland cement, water and a molder with the dimensions 6.5inches x
12.5inches x 1.5 inch thick to determine its bending strength and 6.5inches x 6.5inches
x 1.5 inch thick to determine its compressive strength and thermal insulation.
Methods
The peanut shell will be collected from factories that uses peanut as its product.
The materials will undergo preparatory processes in order for the product to have the
best results.
After collecting waste peanut shell, remove all the unnecessary dirt for it can
contaminate the material. Crush it into pieces and sieve that passed through in sieve
½”.
Preparation of Wire Mesh
A 24.4 mm (1”) will be used to reinforce the cement. It will cut into dimensions of
The molder will be made with the dimensions 6.5inches x 12.5inches x 1.5inch
for bending strength and 6.5inches x 6.5inches x 1.5inch for compressive strength and
thermal insulation.
water.
Making of PSMWP
After preparing all the materials, the molders for the treatment will be placed on a
smooth and horizontal surface. The first set will be the concrete mixture. The second
layer will be the wire mesh, peanut shell and another wire mesh and lastly, another set
For the control, the treatment will be 3 layers. First, the concrete mixture will be
poured into the molders, second, the wire mesh will be placed at the top and lastly, a
All of the sample will be demolded after setting for 24 hours. The exposed sides
will then plastered to mitigate the adjacent board during the testing. The samples will be
marked and cured using watering method in a room temperature for 28 days.
Research Design
The research design will be experimental and comparative study. The materials
will be peanut shell, mesh, Portland cement, aggregates and water. This wall panel
samples will be tested for its bending strength, compressive strength, and thermal
insulation. This study will be designed by a ratio and proportion base on the weight of
the material.
The wall panel sample will be tested at the time when it fully dried with minimum

Testing of Samples
Laboratory Tests
determine the properties of the boards. Hence, standard laboratory testing equipment
will be used to test the design. This will include the mechanical testing.
Mechanical Testing
The test will be done using samples of PSMWP. The samples will be brought to
the materials and testing laboratory. The bending strength, compressive strength, and
the thermal insulation will be tested using the Universal Testing Machine (UTM).
Statistical Tools
The results of samples for bending strength, compressive strength and thermal
The data gathered will be used in order to determine the bending strength and
compressive strength and if it passed the standard strength for the wall panels.
