We are Learning About…


Reading- We will finish our focus on Fairy Tales. This week we will focus on the
comprehension skill of comparing stories. We will examine how stories can be the
same and different.

Writing- This week we will look at writing small moment stories and how images
can aide us in capturing details. A small moment story focuses in on one moment,
one thing, and in one setting. For example, the moment you lost your first tooth,
blowing out the candles at a birthday party. We will be using images to help us
pull out more details to enhance our writing.

Math- We continue our fluency for addition and subtraction, place value, and
problem solving strategies this week. Year 1 will focus on composing and
decomposing numbers and how that is connected to addition and subtraction. Year 2
will focus on solving result unknown problems and making 10. Math Practice Focus:

Unit of Inquiry-We will continue thinking about images that show our learner
profile characteristics and how that can help us understand and explain the
learner profile qualities. We focus on how we interpret and respond to images
this week.

Transdisciplinary Theme- How We Express Ourselves

An inquiry into the ways in which we discover and express ideas, feelings, nature, culture, beliefs and values; the
