FoundationU to Hold JD Conferral

Foundation University College of Law and Jurisprudence is set to confer 285

graduates of Bachelor of Laws (Ll.B) with the degree, Juris Doctor (JD)
(Non-Thesis), through a formal ceremony to be held in the morning of
December 2 at the Sofia Soller Sinco Hall.

The action taken by the University abides with the directive under Legal
Education Board Memorandum Order No. 19, Series of 2018 to grant JD to
the Ll.B graduates from 1953 to 2018.

Any alumnus/alumna from the College of Law and Jurisprudence of

Foundation University are entitled to the conferment of the said degree.

In retrospect, the then Foundation College School of Law had its first batch
of graduates in 1953. University founder, Dr. Vicente G. Sinco, was the prime
mover behind the founding of the said school where he conceived the five
years of formative legal development – a pioneer method of teaching in the
Philippines in the field of legal education. The said method would require
only the student to take half of the study load for the whole semester.
