ENGG2010

 A 0-credit course
 A CORE course for all Engineering Programs
 Students will be pre-enrolled into this course in their
2nd and 3rd years of study (students in 4th year or
above have to enroll the course by themselves if
they have not passed the course)

 ENGG2010 is a seminar based course provides


continuous professional development in the
following areas:
 Environment (ENV)
 Ethics and Professionalism (E&P)
 Health and Safety (H&S)

Minimum Passing Requirement
1. Students are required to attend 4 seminars/workshops within
4 semesters. At least one should be taken from each of the 3
categories

2. Students should complete at least one seminar/workshop in


the first 2 semesters
3. All seminars will be on first-come-first served basis; pre-
registration is required for workshops
4. Attendance will be taken for seminars. Please present your
Student ID card for attendance.
5. If student is late for more than 15 mins for a
seminar/workshop, attendance will not be taken.

6. After attending a seminar, students have to submit a 200-
300 words reflection about what you have learned from
the seminar via “Turnitin” within 1 week after the seminar.
7. The barcode numbers of attendees will be posted on CANVAS
the next working day after the seminar. Students may check
the attendance record before submitting a reflection
8. The reflection will be marked and approved by Teaching
Assistants. Students may be asked to resubmit their
reflections (through email). Please follow the instructions by
the Teaching Assistant.
9. Upon approval, students will be able to view the record under
“Grades” in CANVAS. Any objections for the record must be
made within one week.
10.For any enquiries about the result of the reflection, please
send email to the contact person of the corresponding
seminar.

11.Students would be graded P/F on their participation and
completion of in-class activities
12. No submission of reflection is required for workshops
13.Upon approval, students will be able to view the record
under “Grades” in CANVAS. Any objections for the record
must be made within one week.

Grading of ENGG2010

1. Pass (“P”)
Students will be awarded a “P” grade in that semester
once they have fulfilled the requirements of completing
4 seminars and corresponding reflection (or in-class
activities in workshops) satisfactorily.

2. Permission to Proceed (“PP”)


Students will receive a “PP” grade to proceed until the
requirements are fulfilled

3. Fail (“F”)
Students should complete the course in 4 enrolled
semesters, or they will fail the course in the 4th
semester. Student who did not complete any
seminar in the first two enrolled semesters, will
also fail the course. For those who fail this course
twice, they would be dismissed according to the
University’ academic regulation

period) from Turnitin titled “You have been enrolled in a
Turnitin class by your instructor”. Students who enrolled in
ENGG2010 will not receive the email again in Spring
