1. ABOUT HL. OPROS.


Half Life: Operation Rosenberg is a non-official Mod for Valve`s Half
Life product.
If you wanna know more about the Half Life Universe, visit
www.valvesoftware.com.
If you have NO IDEA about Half Life story, please check the video
provided with this MOD.

You are Corporal Collins, a HECU Marine sent by the US Government


to contain the Black Mesa incident. During this first mission, your higher officer
Colonel Markson, sends you to Area 99, a hidden and detached sector of the
facility to find Dr Rosenberg. This scientist is a key witness of the failure
experiment.

2. INSTALL AND PLAY.

IMPORTANT: YOU NEED HALF LIFE 1 TO PLAY THIS MOD! (Of Course!).

You have two options to install and play this game:


A. EASIEST ONE: Change game in the Half Life menu when you copy
the OPROS folder into your Half Life folder.

B. IF YOU WANT TO PLAY IT WITH A SHORTCUT:

i. First, copy the OPROS folder into your Half Life 1 source folder.
ii. Just create a shortcut of the hl.exe file of your Half Life 1 game,
you can do it with the right button of the mouse over it.
iii. Right click over the shortcut now.
iv. Make sure you add: –game opros at the end of the Target, so it
should say something like this (for example if you copy it to a folder
named Games in your D: disk):

“Target: D:\Games\Half Life Operation Rosenberg\hl.exe –game


opros”.

v. Now you can play the game just double clicking on the new
shortcut.
vi. You can find the icon of HLOPROS in the source folder.

OBSERVATION: THE MOD GOES MUCH MORE BETTER WITH D3D


THAN OPENGL!

3. MENU OPTIONS.
I. NEW GAME: Start a new game.
II. LOAD GAME: Continue with a saved previous game.
III. FIND SERVERS: Look for multiplayer games.
IV. CREATE SERVER: If you want to start a multiplayer game.
V. CHANGE GAME: If you wanna play another Half Life game.
VI. OPTIONS: Change video, audio or gameplay options.
VII. QUIT: Leave the game.

4. GAMEPLAY
You can change the keys in the OPTIONS menu but the default and
more used ones are:
 W,S, A,D: Move to the front, back left and right.
 SPACE: Jump.
 MOUSE: Aiming at the enemies.
 PRIMARY MOUSE BUTTON: Fire.
 SECONDARY MOUSE BUTTON: Alternate fire of each gun.
 R: Reload.
 CTRL: Crouch.
 E: Enable objects, doors, read documents, interact with
characters, etc.
 NUMBERS (1-0): Choose guns.
 Q: Last weapon.
 MOUSE WHEEL: Shift between guns.
 SHIFT: Walk.

OBSERVATION: If you get a “Mod_NumForName…not found model” error you


can try the following:
1. Go to the models/auxmodel folder.
2. Make a copy of the auxiliar.mdl and name it after the
model name you got on the error.
3. Place this copy into your models folder.
4. THIS MIGHT WORK FINE!

5. GAME TIPS
While playing Half Life: Operation Rosenberg you should take this tips
into consideration:
 Explore with detail every room and place you get to.
 Read all the documents, signs, and objects you find to gather
information needed to go through the game.
 Use the Desert Eagle scope to target buttons in Keypads to have
precision.
 You might want to play with papers and a pen near you.

Half Life Operation Rosenberg has these new features:

 New weapons and modified old ones.


 New monsters.
 2 secret levels!
 New story and dialogues.
 C4 to blow up walls!!
 Keycards to open doors!
 Keypads with secret codes to open doors!
 Readable objects to gather info.
 Challenging maps.

6. EXTRAS

 If you look with detail, spawning in A99 is different to the BM spawning,


have any idea what? Think about the distance between the epicenter
(BM) and A99.
 Can you find out what happened with the characters of Half Life: Blue
Shift and Half Life: Decay?
 Can you find Dr Cross sister’s room?
 There are hidden weapons… find them!
 You should play the official expansions of Half Life: Opposing Force,
Blue Shift and Decay.
 Half Life: Operation Rosenberg has several endings. Good and bad ones.
 KNOWN ISSUES:
-There are some lifts that might block you if you don’t jump
before reaching each floor (SORRY GUYS DID MY BEST TO TRY
TO SOLVE THIS  )

- Some monster could keep talking after being killed this might
be because an issue with “scripted_sentences” of the Half Life editor
Hammer. Sorry folks! (DID MY BEST TO FIX THIS BUT
COULDN’T!)
