Brice

1. How long have you been texting?


Brice has been texting since 6th grade when he got his first phone.

2. How often do you text?


Brice tries not be on his phone that often so he texts around 12 times a day.

3. What types of abrev do you use + how often


Brice said it all depends on who he is talking to but mostly instead of you uses u. He does
this probably about 4 times a day.

4. Do you use textspeak in your normal language


Brice does not use text speak in his normal language because he believes it sounds weird

5. Consider Cullingtons piece is your writing affected by texting?


Brice does not think his writing is affected by texting.

Justin
1. Justin got his first phone in the 9 th grade.

2. Justin thinks he doesn't text as much as he should and only texts about three people in
total.
3. Justin uses abbreviations such as idk instead of I don't know, lol and btw instead of by the
way. However, he only uses these informally with his friends so not that much.
4. Justin uses it in textspeak sometimes by saying lol just because it is an easier response but
does not use in formal writing.
5. Justin does not think his writing is affected by texting.

For my interview I talked to Brice and Justin although I do not know either of them that
well i felt comfortable talking to them both as though they were my friends. I have done peer
reviews with Justin before and we have talked mostly about Jefree Star:)) but I still do not know
their personal lives. After talking with them both and comparing their answers both of them do
not think their writing is affected by texting. However, Justin uses it more in textspeak than Brice
does.
