Topic A: Thinking Modes

Brain
The brain frequently switches back and forth between two modes in your daily activities: Focused and Diffused.

Focused
The focused mode involves a direct approach to
solving problems using rational, sequential, analytical
approaches. It is like the tight, penetrating beam of a
flashlight.
Diffused
The diffuse mode does seem to be able to work
quietly in the background on something we are
not actively focusing on.

Both modes are essential for learning.

Chunks
Chunks are pieces of information that are bound together through meaning.

Core Forming a Chunk

Topic B: Chunking

Chunking Process
Chunking process’s being compared to completing a puzzle board; but maybe “crystallization” would be a better
explanation of chunking process. In crystallization we have a core crystal (basic chunk) beside an appropriate
environment (learning environment) and the crystal gradually gets bigger and heavier turning to something
beautiful and valuable.

Topic C: Procrastination

Procrastination
We procrastinate about things that make us feel uncomfortable. we think about something we don’t like, and the
pain centers of our brain light up. So we focus to something more enjoyable.

Learning
anxiety = Pain

Procrastination is Poison
We can easily fall into procrastination and it can be like domino and gradually hold us down; so it is very important
to get control of procrastination by some techniques and tools such as pomodoro technique.
