Zack Solomon Inquiry Module Reflection

1. The peer feedback that I received was helpful in strengthening my Inquiry report. Most of

the feedback I received was positive, often explaining how the person giving the

feedback enjoyed the descriptions of the technologies I explored. While I appreciated the

praise, this is not the feedback that strengthened my report.

The feedback that helped strengthen my report were the comments and questions that

were posed about specific areas. Questions along the lines of “What else does this

technology do?” helped me realize that I needed to return to and expand those parts of my

report. Outside of class, I received some critical feedback from a close friend whose

opinion I put my trust in. They told me that they didn’t know why the reader should care

about the technologies I was exploring. This feedback helped me realize that I needed to

explain what makes these technologies so important that they needed to be discussed, and

I addressed that in my report.

2. According to the feedback that I received, my plan to revise my project is to go back and

expand the areas of my report that are currently sparse and/or lacking in depth. The

elements that I am able to modify are my explanations of how the technologies can be

utilized in the classroom, since these parts are more subjective as opposed to the

explanations of the technologies themselves. I don’t think there’s much room to expand

my explanations of the technologies themselves because I’ve already explained their

designs and functions.

3. One of the things I’ve learned is that no matter how completed you think a project is, you

will always find another revision to make. This is a double-edged sword because it leads

to the work becoming more polished and refined, but can also prevent the project from

being completed at all since you may end up too nitpicky in searching for something to
revise, not allowing the project to ever leave the revision stage. If I started this project

again, I would have chosen my technologies earlier, therefore giving me more time to

research said technologies.

4. The virtual reality system that I explored in my project could also be used in game

development classrooms for lessons about 3D design and environment creation. The

digital SMART Board displays are good for every classroom setting regardless of

subject. A possibility when it comes to virtual reality is the idea of remote learning.

Students would remotely access the class via their VR systems and be able to participate

in the lesson without having to be physically present in the classroom. This could prove

to be useful to students who suffer from various social anxiety disorders, as it would

allow them to attend class without having to actually attend class.
