Cuaron, A. (2004, June 12). Alfonso Cuaron Interview. [Interview by C. Rose] Retrieved from

https://charlierose.com/videos/15751 In the interview, Cuaron explains how the essence

of the books was transferred into the essence of the Harry Potter movies. He goes on to

talk about how he fist felt about taking on the director role in the third Harry Potter

movie, but then goes on to say how he fell in love with the book after he read it and the

potential he saw in it. Cuaron talks about how he felt comfortable and able to work with

the actors because he trusted and admired the production designer that put the cast

together. They also discussed how J.K. asked the director to pay more attention to “the

spirit of the book” rather than literal adaptation.

06995&site=lrc-plus The essay clearly defines fantasy as a modern genre and talks about

how it comes from medieval romance stories. The essay also gives insight into the kinds

of elements needed in this genre of fantasy. For example, the essay talks about the

sometimes romantic and always mythical quests throughout the plot line, as well as the

hero’s journey to face evil. Finally, the essays gives plenty tangible movie examples to

how fantasies are about to create such a thrilling escape from reality.

177982&site=ehost-live In this article the author focuses on the depth of the aspects of

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, and how it’s depth is shown throughout the

movie. The author also compares how the depth in both the Prisoner of Azkaban and the

Lord of the Rings is relayed to the audience and the different techniques that both movies

use. The author also relates the growing dark and immense world to one of the techniques

that Rowling shows in her series. One last aspect of the movie the author mentions is that

this Harry Potter movie is the movie that shows the most maturity so far, and how their

maturity is growing.
