(Supplementation)
Multiple homonymous files which have not same extensions are
generated when naming and saving the current work. The file of
extension BMP is used for the preview of [Open… Ctrl+O] dialog
box of [File(F)] menu. Also, it preserves the CAD data of the
WinV exclusive usage in the file of extension VC5, NC-program
for the shape processing in NCP and NC program for the
breakout equipment in BNP. Also, NC-program for the deletion
device (Front/Back) is saved in CFP/CBP independently, and NC-
program for the drilling device (1/2/3) is saved into
D1P/D2P/D3P independently.

· 3.1.FILE OPEN
When opening a file with [New Ctrl+N] or [Open… Ctrl+O] menu,
the editorial window will be opened.
When opening a file by the [New], always [File → property]
dialog that is the same with [Property] of [File] menu opens.
Here, the machine property on this dialog must be set to open
a new file. Further, for newly created file, the default file
name is as ‘NEW_X’ (X=0,1,2…), so execute [Save as…] to rename
the file properly.

8
[テキストを入力]
9

In case of selecting the file (.vc5) by the [New Ctrl+N], the

data saved by WinVenus is opened, and selecting the
file(.ncp), the NC-program will be inversed[4.8.3] and will be
opened.

· 3.2.SHAPE IMPORT
In case of the new file, the editorial window is empty first.
Generally, it takes proper point data to define a peripheral
shape by means of ‘Digitizer input’ or ‘Outline’s points data
list’. This data should be expressed the feature of shaped
profile. Finally generated NC-program should be approximated
in the coordination of both arc and straight line, so keeping
sufficient density of points for small curvature is very
important to get high precision. However, increasing the
density of points induce the incorrect shape or distortion
when apply “Smoothing” function, in case that comparatively
big errors are including in the point’s data.

In case that the existing CAD data with a function of “ DXF

file output “, it is possible to import the point data by the
order of “TOOL”-“DXF”-“DXF load” from the DXF file.
However, it is different depend on the CAD-software in the
details, WinV does not support this command for all DXF files.
In case that NC program (text file) for the shape has already
been existed in advance, it can be imported by the command of
[NC] → [NC-Program inverse] menu, it is possible to generate
both arc and straight line segments from the file, and
generates editable shape.

3.3.SHAPE COMPLETION

(Supplementation)
After editing the profiled shape, it is recommended to execute
‘smoothening’ function for the shape.
BANDO KIKO

“START POINT” definition is the operation, which must be

completed before generating NC-program for all machines. It
sets “START-POINT- attribution” as the end point. Under the
actual operation of the machine, when the tool is firstly
arrived to this point on the shaped profile, it is regarded as
the first movement to a definite point on the shape.

As for the opened path(*), a start-point of the path must be

defined as “START POINT”. (It is not possible to define as the
end point.)
(* Path : this route is kept by the direction to trace the
shape, and also it means same as the profiled shape.)
For those machines, which need the movement for approaching
/leaving to /from a work piece by means of tool, such as edging
machines, “ENTRY POINT” and “LEAVE POINT” must be defined.
(Even NC-program can be generated without these points, but
because it induces improper movement of the tool, so these
points always must be defined.)

3.4.NC-PROGRAM GENERATION
Firstly, execute 「 NC-Program 」 → 「 Generate 」 . Secondly, execute
「NC-program」→「Simulate」, and then, simulate the movement on the
PC. Herewith, especially need to take care for the direction
of the tool. If abnormal movement like as the tool is
forwarded into the work-piece too much, it is absolutely
prohibited to operate the machine practically in case of
grinding machine.

3.5.PROGRAM REGISTRATION
NC program can be registered on each NC independently by means
of proper connecting of RS232C cable with 「 NC-
program 」 → 「 Send 」 → 「 * * * 」 ( * * * means Glass Processing
Equipment).
In case of no connection by the cable, the NC-PROGRAM is

10
[テキストを入力]
11

registered from the PCMCIA CARD SLOT of the NC by means of

both this memory card and adaptor after copying the generated
program file to the memory card(= Compact Flush ).
(Supplementation)
Refer to the operation manual of NC for the actual operation
of NC.

3.6.TEST RUN

By setting the feed rate so as the machine can be stopped

immediately, test run (without loading work pieces) of the NC
program must be done. If any malfunction of the machine is not
obviously admitted in the movement, It is allowed to try to
increase the feed rate gradually up to the normal operation
speed.
Here, actually attempt to process a work-piece, and confirm
the finished precision degree.
(NOTE)
Refer to the machine manual for the operations and processing.

 Basis
Some of basic settings are carried out by Venus-Layer.

 “Macro Table”
It defines the name of a macro table file, which is referred
by WinV to generate the NC-program. The extension of this
kind of file is ‘.def’.
(Supplementation)
NC Macro Table File is stored in “System Path“. If specified
file is not existed in here, NC program is not be generated.
The System path is the folder which set in the system of
[Tool]-[User setting]-[Path].
( Normally, the folder is“c::\Program Files\jWinV800”(in
case of Version 800).

 “Program No.”
It decides the program number (= 4 digits integer) for a
generated NC-program.
BANDO KIKO

 “Radius limit(mm)”
It sets the boundary radius to be regarded the arc as the
straight line. I.e. WinV recognizes the segments having
radius which larger than this boundary radius is regarded as
a straight lines.

 “Maximum “Feed-Rate(mm/min)”
It limits the highest processing speed of NC-programs.

 “Maximum spin (deg./min)”

It sets the clamp value under the small arc with allowable
Z-axis speed.

 “Feed-rate factor”
“Std.(= Standard)” :
It sets the coefficient of the speed calculation, which is
based on arc radius. Increasing this value also becomes
increasing the speed on the arc segment even with the same
radius.
“Ext.(= Extension)”:
Except for the special control, this value always should be
set as ‘0(zero)’.

 “High-speed capacity (mm)”

It sets the shortest distance to accelerate axes’ feeding up
to the maximum speed. Even if the interpolation of the
program block is straight or arc with very large radius,
which is not longer than this distance, the feed-rate value
follows that of the continuing corner.

 “Approach/Departure (0:linear, 1:circular)”

It chooses the course of both approaching and leaving when
the tool begins/finishes processing the work. (Generally,
straight is selected.).

22
[テキストを入力]
23

 “Feed-rate suppress (%)”

When the speed difference between continuing 2 blocks is
within this rate, the speed of the later block follows the
previous one.
 Generating “NC program”
This is the setting only for single head cutting machines.
It is prohibited to use the other type of machines.
(‘0:disable’ on the ‘Cutter correct’ box should be set) !

FIG. 4. REFERENCED FUNCTIONS-4

 “Cutter compensation (1:enable, 0:disable)”

When setting as to ‘1’ in beforehand, the NC-program is
generated under the consideration of off-set error value.

 “Cutter eccentricity”
It sets the center-offset value for trailing the cutting-
wheel.

 “Deviance X”
BANDO KIKO

It sets the distance with sign between the rotational center

of Z-axis and cutting-point of the tool in X-axis direction.

 “Deviance Y”
It sets the distance with sign between the rotational center
of Z-axis and cutting-point of the tool in Y-axis direction.
 “Convert when export (1:enable, 0:disable)”
When the CAD-Date is transferred to the folder which is the
destination of exporting (The initial value is‘c : \Program
Files\WinV%%%\adat\’)(%%% means the Version), it is set also
whether converting it for WinAce is executed or not.

 “Rotation-angle”
The angle(Z-axis) by the Venus Layer (Cutting/Grinding) is
set here.
