BATTLE OF THE BANDS:

1. The contest is open to any band composed of members officially enrolled in any
educational institution.
2. Each group shall be composed of a minimum of five (5) and a maximum of ten (10)
members.
3. There shall be one group composed of males or females or a combination of both to
represent each group.
4. Professional singers in the group are not allowed.
5. Members of the group during the registration shall present their school ID with
validation sticker for the current semester.
6. The group is free to choose any Filipino or English music composition except punk or
metal rock and gospel songs. Vulgar words or lyrics are not allowed.
7. The performance shall be done in a maximum of 10 minutes and 30 seconds including
the freestyle for the lead guitarist and drummer.
8. One (1) point deduction from the total score shall be applied for every 30 seconds
exceeded.
9. Performers are free to wear their own styled apparel provided these are not suggestive.
(Backless, spaghetti strap, mini skirt, shorts and the like are strictly prohibited)
10. Each group shall sell ten (10) stubs with ten (10) tickets each stub which is equivalent
to 100 tickets. Each ticket cost Sixty pesos (P60.00). Forty (40%) of the ratings shall be
based on the number of tickets sold and 60% for their actual performance.
11. Each group is required to have minimum ticket sales of P 1, 000.00. This will serve as
their registration.
12. The group is free to create and stylized the types of songs they performed as long as it
will not break the original lyrics and idea of the songs.
13. The guitarists and the drummers are required to show and do their freestyle in playing
their instruments for 1 minute and 30 seconds before or in the middle or in the final part of
the performance.

 GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR CULTURAL CONTESTS

1. All musical tapes, accompaniments, props or any paraphernalia needed for the event
should be set by the trainers or coaches and be forwarded to the Sound Committee.
2. Entry number shall be drawn prior to rehearsals and actual performance.
3. Contestant/s who fails to appear on the designated time for their events shall
automatically lose by default.
4. In case of a tie in the ranking system, it shall be decided by:
Adding the points reflected in the judges’ scoring sheet
in the case of a further tie, the contestant/s shall repeat he performance and shall be
rated a new
5. No contestant or representative shall contact in any way or manner to any of the judges
in connection with the ratings. Judges rating on the performance will be made available
to the contestants concerned.
6. The decision of the Board of Judges is final and irrevocable.
7. Violation of any of the guidelines, rules and regulations shall be ground for
disqualification.
